If you enjoyed the original SUPERHOT then you're going to have a blast with this one. S:MCD takes what made the original amazing and ramps it up to 11.

STORY
The story is more or less the same as the original. You are an unnamed protagonist who must kill countless Red Guys. There is a "deeper story" if you go looking for it but on the surface it isn't as rich.

GAMEPLAY
The gameplay is the exact same as the previous game but more tuned and refined. Moving, jumping and picking weapons is a lot more fluent and responsive and doesn't feel as unfair as the previous game. Level structure has now changed, so instead of the standard one level after you can now pick what levels to play in a Mario 3 styled map. The 'Levels' are just 4 different rooms you must complete back-to-back without dying to move on. The levels are randomly selected from a list of old and new locations including Subways, Labs, Dig Sites, Restaurants, Discos, Dojos and even a clock tower.

The game introduces some roguelike elements to the mix as well. After a few levels you can pick an upgrade to help you such as More Health, Faster Speed, Weapons have more ammo etc which definitely helps with the replayability as you can mix and match your style.

VISUALS
The all white is back in full force but this time more detailed. A lot more objects are thrown in to fill the empty space and add some life to the levels, as well as very minor things like cables running on the ground, tools laying around the area and more throwable objects.

VERDICT
If you loved the first SUPERHOT and want more then you will get more. It is the same good but ramped up to 11.

BACKGROUND: Back when Flash was all the rage, Escaping the Prison and Stealing the Diamond (along with countless other amazing gems) consumed my life in 2013. I would constantly replay each scenario, seeing how many endings, fails and references I could find. This series holds an EXTREMELY personal spot in my heart and I bought it in an instant once I heard it was on Steam.

The Henry Stickmin Collection is a collection of 4 Flash Games (and an additional one made for Steam) in which you control Henry Stickmin, an up-and-rising criminal who is looking for his next big score. The game is an interactive story, in which you get to make choices that can affect the ending. The choices you make can end in hilarious failures, accompanied by a pop culture reference or can advance the story in unexpected ways. Each of the 5 games have a different theme, plot and cast of characters that offers new and interesting stories to play through. The choices you make and approaches creates different timelines and new scenarios to play through.

Trial and Error is the name of the game. Each episode has a LOT of decisions that can lead to a hilarious fail and because each failure is relatively short, you can experiment and see what works and what doesn't. I do recommend after beating the game to replay and choose the wrong options to see the what the choices can lead to. Another important addition is the Map. The Map allows you to go to any point in an Episode and replay it, which makes replaying and experimenting an absolute breeze.

Of course I have to mention the art. The art has been retouched and boosted, with everything running a bit more smoothly and the audio is top notch. The voice lines, sound effects and music are all crispy and sound beautiful.

Finally, the game is a point-and-click adventure. The only controls you use are the mouse and clicking on what decision you want to make, which isn't bad as the whole point of the series is to watch the amazing and beautiful drawn animations.

If you want a hilarious joyride to playthrough, filled with pop culture references, hilarious voice acting and some amazing music then this is the game for you!

If you want to control a giant and deadly entanglement of veins, eyeballs and the color red then CARRION is the game for you. In CARRION you play as Carrion, a giant creature that breaks free from containment and has one goal: escape.

You move with the left mouse and attack with the right. At first your only method of attack is pulling in enemies from a distance and consuming them. As you continue through the game, you gain new abilities and physically grow larger. You can produce spikes to steamroll enemies, mind-control enemies for some gunplay and build a protective armour coating to block incoming fire.

The visuals are amazing. Everything is highly detailed and pixelated, which is good because this game can become EXTREMELY gorey at times and the clean and pristine environment will be splattered in blood. Fear not, you won't be spending your entire time in a single facility. The other environments include Mines, Research Stations, Botanical Gardens, Armouries and even a Bunker.

In terms of story, there isn't really that much. Aside from some small flashback sequences, the main story is open to interpretation. Was CARRION created or found? Is the company good or bad? You get to make the call.

OVERALL

PROS
+ Very fun
+ Easy to play
+ Replays offer different ways to tackle situations

CONS
+ No post-game content

Early Access -arvostelu
(Early Access Review for 19.05.2020)

THIS IS NOT A FINISHED GAME! Don't get me wrong I love this game and am eagerly awaiting its development but I'm going to be real and say this game is not in a state fit to play. Right now it functions and you'll get roughly 20 minutes of gameplay from its story mode and however more from the Endless Arena and Sandbox but right now it is still very bare bones. If you have faith in The New Bloods and want to support them then by all means buy the game, participate in Discord discussions and all that jazz but if you're just browsing, might want to wait for a sale or until more meat gets added.

MAXIMUM ACTION is a First-Person shooter in which you play as an unknown person who must shoot his way through 80s inspired action set pieces, such as Hospitals, Restaurants owned by the Yakuza, Military Jungles and Frozen Arctic Bases. You'll dual wield all kinds of weapons from pistols, submachine guns, light machine guns, shotguns, rifles, swords and even rocket launchers. Slide to cover or swan dive into your enemies, all the while using an impressive Slow-Motion mode that slows down time, whilst you move slightly faster, allowing you to get those precision headshots and turn the battlefield in your favour.

On a graphical level, the game looks amazing. While some levels are not finished and are lacking subtle details, plenty of other levels are flushed out and look amazing. Duke it out on the neon soaked streets of a market, rampage through an exploding parking garage or shoot up a blue hazed hospital building.

PROS
+ Fun for brief moments of gameplay
+ Lots of weapon variety
+ Good music

CONS
+ Not finished
+ Not much to do aside from what you can think of

SUMMARY
This is a good game and I have faith The New Bloods will help polish them gem into an amazing game to the standards of DUSK and AMID EVIL, but for now it is still learning to take its first steps.

UPDATE REVIEW 17/08/2024

SHORT REVIEW

Fallout New Vegas is a first / third person RPG. Players control Courier 6, who after being jumped by a man in a flashy suit and left for dead is bought back to life and must track down his assailant.
As you track him down, you'll discover new locations, meet the inhabitants and eventually get caught up in the local war for dominance over the Mojave wasteland.

LONG REVIEW

STORY
You play as Courier Six, a courier for the Mojave Express that is delivering a Platinum Chip. You get ambushed and tied up when travelling through the Mojave. The only thing you know about your attack is that a man in a flashy suit pus a bullet in your head and leaves you for dead. The resident town doctor manages to save you and from there your goal at first is simple: track down the man who shot you
As you make your way through the wasteland, you'll begin to learn about the local politics and the main factions fighting for control of the wasteland:
- Mr House, the father of New Vegas who controls the Strip, one of the few intact pieces of the old world who commands a robot army
- The New California Republic, the post-war army that seeks to restore law and order in the wasteland
- Caesar's Legion, glorified raiders that have built their appearance and hirearchy after the Romans that want to be the dominant force and purify the wasteland
As you venture through you'll encounter mini factions with their own goals and journey's that you can help or dismantle. Help the above factions or hinder them, the choice is up to you.

GAMEPLAY
Fallout New Vegas has a lot, so I'll break this into 3 catergories: Character Building, Roleplaying and Combat

CHARACTER BUILDING
During Character Creation you'll have the option to customize your S.P.E.C.I.A.L, (Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility and Lucky) essentially different stats for your Courier. be a strong but simple minded brawler that hits hard and swings fast, or train your trigger finger to spray hot lead before your enemies can fire a shot off. Each time you level up you can boost even more smaller stats, such as guns, lockpicking, bartering and sneak. Every 2 levels allows you to pick a perk that grants a passive or active ability such as faster reloads, pacifying wasteland creatures and having them aid as well as being able to reverse-pickpocket live grenades onto enemies and watch them explode to name a few.

ROLEPLAYING
Your SPECIAL and Skills aren't just hidden values for combat, they can also affect how you talk and how you interact with the world. Most dialogue or world interaction has a SKILL check that is always a guarentee if you meet the requirement rather than a percentage chance.
If you prefer to solve your problems with words rather than violence you can convince enemies to stand down or people to do the right thing.
If you can't be bothered going on a scavenger hunt for items you can use your technical know how to offer a solution. You're not just limited to option A or B, as many of the quests have various ways to complete that compliments all playstyles.

COMBAT
FNV has a lot of options when it comes to how you fight. The weapon variety is quite expansive, with pistols, rifles, shotguns and their energy and explosive counterparts. 9mm and 10mm Pistols, Submachine Guns, Service Rifles, Sawed-Off Shotguns, Riot Shotguns, Hunting Shotguns, Light Machine Guns, Missile Launchers, Grenade Launchers, Laser Rifles, Laser Miniguns and the iconic Fat Man to name a few.
If you don't like traditional FPS or prefer the turn-based elements of the first two games, you're in luck. The Vault-Tec Assisted Targetting System (VATS) is for you. When activated, time slows down and you can target individual body parts. Aim for the legs to stop enemies from charging or fleeing, aim for the arms to disarm them or force them to swap to a weaker weapon and headshots for critical hits.

PRESENTATION
The Mojave might at first appear to be a bit bland but once you properly get into it, the world really shines. The irradiated wasteland is in full swing as many iconic locations are either destroyed or refortified by the new residents. The major landmarks and point-of-interests can be seen from the distance and the retrofuturism is still as strong with the abandoned vehicles and old world advertisements that survived.

All in all, FNV is a phenomenal game that still goes strong thanks to its wonderful world building, writing, voice acting and how the world feels alive and reacts as you move through it.

ORIGINAL REVIEW 14/06/2020
The Mojave Desert, a wasteland filled with deadly creatures, made by the government or mutated from the Great War. It's survival of the fittest and it's killed or be killed. The wasteland is inhabited by many folk, some looking to just survive and others wanting power. There are 4 major factions - Mr. House, the Brotherhood of Steel, the NCR and The Legion - each one fighting for the Hoover Dam, the main source of power and clean water. You play as Courier 6, a simple delivery person who is tasked with delivering a Platinum Chip but is ambushed, shot in the head and left for dead. You are brought back to life and it's now time to get revenge and determine the fate of New Vegas.

PROS
+ A MAJOR world to explore, with lots to do, many characters to talk to and lots of different options and endings for people who love multiple playthroughs
+ Plenty of customization for your playstyles
+ Amazing voice acting

CONS
+ Bugs galore and certain things slightly not working BUT not game breaking
+ No Post-Game option, meaning you have to do everything you want before you beat the game or make a save right before you begin the final mission

QUICK REVEW: If you're a fan of retro FPS shooters and shooting things till they die, this is the game for you!

LONG REVIEW:
ION Fury tells the story of officer Shelly 'Bombshell' Harrison who has just finished her shift and wants to get drunk and relax but is interrupted by the nefarious Doctor Doctor Heskel who wants to take over DC. Annoyed, angered and just at her limit, Shelly prepares to finally take down Heskel and his robot army once and for all!

PRESENTATION
The game has the classic, retro 90's design and it actually means 90. The world is both a combination of pixel graphics and actually solid material. Pick-Ups and Interactives are modeled and rendered, lighting effects light up Neo DC and the sound design and voice design is spectacular. The level environments are visually unique and feel refreshing instead of just 'industrial XYZ' all the time. Valerie Arem does a phenomenal job as Shelly by sounding both angry and satisfied at the same time and John St. Jon just kills his role of the Mad Doctor who gleefully chuckles at murder.

GAMEPLAY
If you've played Duke Nukem, Shadow Warrior, Blood or any other 90's shooter then you'll fit right in at home. You must get from Point A to Point B and murder anything that stands in your way, whilst completing minor objectives such as getting keycards, defeating bosses and so on. You have a variety of weapons at your disposal, that also serve a secondary feature. The Shotgun can transform into a Grenade Launcher, the Crossbow can load up to fire 50 at once, the Submachine Guns can go Akimbo. Enemy variety is also nice, with loads of different types requiring strategy and careful placement instead of just unloading into them. For the first time you can actually headshot enemies, which deals a lot of damage (and can even kill them instantly) and makes aiming practical. Along with the shooting, there are secrets galore for you hunters, as well as achievements and survival modes for post-game antics.

MISC
My only complaint is that this game can feel unfair / insanely difficult at times as enemies are hitscanners and it can be hard to tell what is hurting you when the firefights occur *I played on Normal but had to go down a level.

OVERALL
If you love FPS games and want something new and refreshing, ION Fury is for you. It is fun, action-packed and is a game crafted with love and care.

Your family has just been murdered and the only clue you have to go on is his hat. Explore the Wild West and get justice with your trusty six-shooter by your side. The game is MASSIVE with a lot of areas to explore, NPCs to talk to, Quests to complete, Collectibles and playstyles. Be the Lawful Citizen or a Chaotic Hellraiser, kill the murderer or befriend him, the choice is up to you. Along with that are plenty of funny characters to talk to, multiple side quests to complete (You got Miners, Oil Rigs, Rivers, Bandits and many more). Honestly this is the most fun I've had with a game, and I am still replaying it, trying to do everything there is to do.

PROS
+ A short and sweet game. Your first playthrough will take you roughly 4 hours, but afterwards you can clear it in 1 hour. Perfect for replaying and trying out new playstyles and scenarios.
+ Easy to learn controls. You have 2 major buttons to remember, talk and fire. All situations are neutral but can quickly turn into a firefight if you so choose
+ The world is massive and is filled to the brim with collectibles, Quests and NPCs to talk to (As well as achievements!)
+ The art style is gorgeous and it just looks amazing. And the variety is also amazing. You got standard Western Towns, Deserts, Forests, Mines, Military Bases and even railroads.

CONS
- The gunplay is a bit wonky. If you're a first time gunslinger, it will take a while to get a hang of the controls and perfect the shooting. Thankfully the only penalty for death is losing cash, so trial and error is viable.
- Can't track missions. This one only applies to completionists but it is hard to narrow down exactly where you're supposed to go and you will be walking around trying to find the right person to talk to

Overall I recommend this game if you're looking for a fun, hilarious and good ol fashioned Western.

If you love a hard but fair challenge, with some brutal music combined with tons of gore and explosion, BUTCHER is the game for you!

PROS
+ Extremely fast paced, only time it slows down is when you've killed everyone
+ Good variety of weapons and methods of killing enemies
+ Good level layout and design
+ Short but sweet campaign, doesn't overstay and doesn't feel to short

CONS
- Aside from Achievements, there is nothing to do post-game. No extra modes or Co-Op to fluff around in

*On Steam I briefly played it, but on PS4 I have completed it. I can assure you they play perfectly on either device

If you enjoyed the first Lucius, you will definitely enjoy this one. The large, open world allows for a lot more explorations, the new skills give you plenty of ways to kill and the whole vibe feels murderously fun.

QUICK REVIEW: A short, sweet and simple puzzle game with horror elements thrown in. The basic mechanic is you can rotate the world by walking on the walls to turn it, however the world has unique properties that change it, such as changing orientation and depth. The visuals are amazing and look extremely grim and sharp, giving a (purposefully) uneasy feeling. The sound design is excellent and overall an amazing game.

PROS:
+ Simple and easy to pick up
+ Amazing art style
+ Easy controls
+ Excellent sound design

CONS
- Very short
