After a horrible start to advanced access, they managed to make the game somewhat playable. Though if the servers will be able to uphold the wave of new players who didn't get the Gold edition is still up for debate. We will see in a couple of hours, if they can withstand it.

For now tho, I have to say that Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is indeed a fun game, but for me personally the car pool at launch is just a little bit too small. I know they will add more cars over the seasons, but it definitely would have been nice to have a few more.

Another thing that really needs to be added is the ability to adjust the AI difficulty. You have no say in when the game will raise it and on the higher difficulties, the AI is sometimes just unbeatable, which is kind of unfair. So that would be a very welcome addition.

Last but not least, to not expand on this review for too long, there is one more thing they should add. It's been mentioned multiple times and everything inside of the game is practically build upon it, yet it doesn't exist. An offline mode.
If an offline mode will be added to the game and there's is no always online forced upon you, then it is worth calling Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown a worthy successor (including all the things they will add in the future like houses, the casino, bikes, etc.).

The driving itself feels a lot like a mixture of both the Forza Horizon games and the old Test Drive Unlimited games, so if you've played either of them (or even both), you will feel right at home.

The open world is one of the two aspects where Test Drive Unlimited really shines the best. It really is a vast open world with a lot of hidden paths and little secrets.

The second one, and by far the best thing in the game in my opinion so far, is the sense of speed. It is absolutely incredible. I haven't had such a thrill because of the sense of speed in racing games in a long time.

Sometimes it does feel a bit arcade, but sometimes it can also be compared to FH, so both facts are valid imo.

I tested the beta and respectfully disagree with the driving, it felt too arcade compared to Forza Horizon, I think the game would improve a lot if they focused on a simcade experience like FH. I have very few memories of the old TDUs, mainly because it's been years since I played them, so I can't dive deep into comparison here but it does feels almost like old TDU, problem is it's similar more than a decade later, things improved quite a lot by now.

We are still actively trying to convince the devs and publishers to implement an offline mode. Cause the game literally has everything it needs to work as an offline game.

No offline mode = pay to rent. AVOID THIS GAME!

Steam always needs some time to update

Oh fr, lol. I think I read your non-updated version (strangely, Steam didn't update it for my instance even though I read it after you updated it).

Not as long as my review for Tower Unite, but still quite lengthy

You consider this a long review?
