Not for fans of the original game, or even most newcomers. Inferior in many ways to the previous remake of RE2, with plenty of content either cut or truncated from the source material. I was able to complete the game in 4 hours even with looking for all items and secrets.

It's not a never-buy, but I'd recommend waiting for a deep deep sale (~$25).

A decent throwback shooter at it's core.

What I like: gunplay is tight, certain set pieces were very well done, Mick Gordon's soundtrack steals the show.

What I hate: The plot can be summed up in one word: hamfisted. Weak story that breaks with the gritty tone established in New Order and Old Blood. Cartoon character villains make taking anything seriously difficult. Deathshead and von Schabbs were cold, calculating, predatory, and evil. Frau Engel, daddy Blazko and the Nazi enemies are awkward and heavy-handed caricatures. New Order and Old Blood made you feel like a freedom fighter taking on the most evil empire ever to exist, whereas I felt like GI Joe taking on Cobra in New Colossus.

Prey gets a lot of praise for being a spiritual successor to System Shock 2, and while that's true it also succeeds in being great without needing to stand on the shoulders of giants.

When id's Hugo Martin said that Doom 2016 would have the player feeling like "Bruce Lee on a skateboard with a shotgun" I dismissed it as cheap marketing hype for a product that could never touch the run and gun fun of the original 1993 title. Turns out Hugo's description was right on the money. Fantastic atmosphere, fluid gameplay, and a killer score by composer Mick Gordon make Doom 2016 a must buy.

Little Nightmares is a strange and dour little romp through the bowls of a derelict ship, but a bland and uninspired story which lasts for less than three hours does not make it worth the $20 price tag.

If games like Inside are your cup of tea then it's worth getting on sale.

Loved the first Outlast, but I couldn't get into the sequel at all for the following reasons:

- NPCs are psychic
- Entire game is pitch black (night-vision camera doesn't help much)
- Jump scare linear corridors

Force Unleashed II is the phrase "One step forward, two steps back" personified.

While the visuals have been improved immensely, it suffers from a sub-par atmosphere and repetitive level layout.
The controls have been streamlined and are much more responsive, making for quicker, more engaging swordplay, though there are only a few different units encountered throughout the game, and most can be dispatched using the same one-two lightning saber combo.

Force Unleashed II also suffers from being what many would consider DLC length, taking me only three and a half hours to complete the game on "normal", and the threadbare narrative barely keeps what little action there is flowing.

If you're a fan of beat-em-ups and a huge Star Wars junkie looking to complete their collection, I'd only recommend purchasing this title if it's on super-sale.

Force Unleashed is the Jedi power fantasy we've all dreamt of at one point. While that may sound appealing to some, the game is mired by it's subpar controls, ridiculous story, and camera which too often hinders depth perception during already tiresome boss encounters.

If you're a fan of beat-em-ups and don't care too much for the plot, I'd recommend picking it up during a sale. Otherwise you're not missing anything by passing this title up.
