The game's good, yet still a negative review and this isn't something that I usually do whenever a game is good

HOWEVER... I felt mislead through the way the game is catagorized: Online PvP - Online Co-op etc...
In my opinion... If you buy a game and you need to FORCE your friends to play with you because THEY cannot implement a match making system / lobby system inside of the game. Then you shouldn't promote it as ONLINE PvP
ADDITIONALLY If you can't play it ONLINE PvP... It should be good enough to play against AI's Which it is not.

Sorry not sorry, love the idea, played 1 game as Earth, was way to easy and I'm not going to spend hours searching for groups that might play this game.... No just look at other online board games on steam like Terraforming Mars or Armello to give a few examples considering what I just wrote about Lobby systems and/or Matchmaking system.

Just the first time you opened this game and saw the beauty of the world, learned your weapon, started slaying the local envirement, you get hooked in this game! If you feel like the game is too difficult, try another weapon!

The fact that I bought this on the PS4 when it first got released, returned when Iceborne got released and rebought it on the PC when the "Return To Monster Hunter World" event got announced just indicates how happy I am with this game!

Monster Hunter: Rise... ooof this is a though one to review!

Bit of background information:

1st ever Monster Hunter Game was MH4:U, It was on the Nintendo, I was playing Hammer and I was not really that into the game. I truely started playing and loving Monster Hunter when Monster Hunter: World got announced and released on the PS4. I played MHW base game and returned even when Iceborne was released! My main weapon was Insect Glaive... Aerial Insect Glaive

Monster Hunter World was and still is an amazing game. But then compared to Rise... I feel like Rise is a dissapointment, I even dare to say a Failure to the Franchise!

Don't get me wrong, every Monster Hunter Game, If I were to replay them on an Emulator or such would probably be worth the price and I do recommend Monster Hunter Rise as wel! It's like how a Pokemon game is hard to go wrong and even if it dissappoints, it's worth the money. And that's exactly the feeling I have with Monster Hunter Rise!


Personal Frustrations:

- Turf Wars were removed
- Monster Riding in my opinion is only a good thing for solo hunts, not multiplayer hunts
- The Massive Player Lobbies are reduced from 16 -> 4 Players
- Aerial Insect Glaive is not Unique anymore. Silkbind Attacks granted every weapon Aerial Moveset which ruined the Uniqueness of the weapon
- Aerial Insect Glaive Kinsects buffs are so limited in turns of duration. Even with Power Prolonger The Kinsect Buffs dissappear way to quickly while in Monster Hunter World, I don't even need a reason to use Power Prolonger yet.
- Monster Move WAY to fast! It's very annoying as soon as you get all 3 buffs and land only 1 set of aerial insect glaive attacks that the monster just runs away! Every time I just aquire some buff or was just getting into thoughts of "finally a good fight, I got the high ground cuz I understands it's moveset/did crazy damage" it just runs away.
- If 2 monsters see eachother! 1 scares away the other, without fighting, and more often then not the monster you are hunting is running away again!
- Limited plants/bunches/mobs, in comparison with MHW, I feel like this game is a de-evolution of MHW, sure it's an evolution compared to previous entries because it's made specifically for the Switch, but this is bad
- Spiribirds are the worst invention ever! It forced me to use mods (which I never use nornally) because of how much of a grind it is if you don't start with max stats!
- When trying out new weapons, Ranged Weapons seem unplayable because of changed controlls/UI (I play with PS4 Console)


Pro's:

- It's still a Monster Hunter Game, A lot of the fights were cool, the new monsters were nice to have! return of some fan favorites that I couldn't even beat in the past: Gore Magala, I don't think Capcon can ever delivery a Monster Hunter Game that truely deserves a negative review! (this is the ONLY REASON Why I still recommend this game despite personally seeing it as a failure)
- For some reason, the controls feel easier to use.... (except for ranged weapons
- I like the idea of costumizable movesets HOWEVER Next time this is implemented, They should give moves suiting the current weapon and not steal from Aerial Insect Glaive
- I played other weapons as well, for those weapons the game is great to play as, just sucks if you're an Aerial Insect Glaive Main because you feel weak, not unique, and forced to change weapon unless you play Ground Insect Glaive
- The option to escape after getting pinned down is a nice things they tried. But In most cases feels to much like Aerial Insect Glaive regardless what weapon you are using.


False Myth:
There's a debate going on the Monster Hunter Rise's UI is better then Monster Hunter World's and honestly... I feel like nothing changed! Whoever is claiming this is probably Monster Hunter Rise biased

I'm gonna quote an article here!

Don't get me wrong, I played the tutorial and reached the first milestone and closed the game. I haven't done even more then that yet because of graphics and performance issues. I would love to play more but the matter of the fact is that I cannot give it a positive review until the performance issues are fixed.

My pc can handle a lot but even on Low settings my PC is struggling and the game looks like crap, not making it super low to still see it struggle! I always update the reviews as I do believe the game WILL be better in 5-6 months but right now the game is not worth it unless you consider buying the Ultimate Edition and treat it as a pre-order when the entire season pass is released! (5-6 months estimated I think)

Unlike TOS2: This game has no gameruining experiences

Sure it's not as fancy as TOS2, which why I don't play it anymore but I need to give credit where credit is due
TOS1 was better gameplay wise

I honestly was going to recommend this game after reconsideration about my first review being mostly bad due to mechanical bugs and tos being mechanically better. But I unfortunatly still am going to have to Not Recommend the game due to a different reasoning: The levels of Toxicity/Harassment and a lot of player Cheating/Teaming in the game

Now to give context, In no way/shape or form do I allow cheating or teaming but I can see some reasons for being in a discord together. The only time I've teamed in TOS2 is when I played this game with my GF just for her to give it a shot! TOS2 can be overwhelming and I have no intentions to give her a win or whatsover, I just wanted her to have a way to still have some info is she was lacking some (since TOS2 can be very fast and beginner unfriendly, even toxic for it). after only 1 game, due to toxicity/harrassment the GF didn't even want to play anymore. (and additional personal reasons)

Anyways... Why I'm still giving this a negative review has to do more then just the GF not liking the game. Unfortunatly... a lot of players use names like "Transfobic" amd some other racist names which are taunting to specific ppl, and being TOS 2 is full of short fused people, You CANNOT even defend how badly they are treated with them dying N1 or being instant voted out due to hate D2. or something. And the same with people that just cannot stand other ppl winning or something

I've met few ppl that were amazing and wonderfull TOS2 ppl instead the majority of games I now have are just, start up my computer, get some1 in my lobby that remembers me from a previous game, and just get harrassed by that person for multiple games in a row, only to leave the lobby and them to do everything in their power to find the same lobbies as you do?!

While you have no idea why you deserve all the hate, cuz I only play it from time to time for a couple of nights in a row for later on not touching the game again for over 4-5 days, just to come back and experience the same stuff again and you have 0 IDEA where it comes from!

It's sad to see a game that I wanted to change my review to positive due to mechanical improvements and updates and so on, so forth. that I STILL have to rate as not recommended, not due to the game itself, but due to the community! And In my personal opinion, the swtich to Mobile game and Free to play. didn't help at all! In fact, In my opinion it made it worse!

I'm going to be forced to take a break from TOS2. Not due to myself being punished, but due to the hate and toxicity levels just making this game impossible to play. Not a single games goes by in which I can just enjoy myself and just play normal games, and if at some point I do die 1st night then that's fine cuz sometimes that will happen. But I don't need games in which I die or get hanged 1st every time with some toxic taunting message afterwards implying that it was the doing of some1 with personal grudges against me!

Again: TOS2 I was going to change my review from mechanically bad to just recommend the game, but due to the current social hellhole that this game has become, I cannot change this review!

Friends and Foes... where to start:

I feel this is a nice extra to add for the people who want to pay for it
It provides UI changes and some additional events that were not thought of yet when the base game released

Is it the most impactfull of the expansions and such, DEFINITLY NOT
but it adds flavor and funny moments

I feel like a lot of the Negativity comes because people expected this DLC to be added for free as some kind of Free Patch, Free Update, but you cannot review this as a negative in my opinion

For the prize of 4,99 Euro's (at least where I live) this is a reasonable price.

My personal rating for the game: 7.2/10

I had hours of fun stories, tried countless achievements and you always improve your games

One of the more enjoyable games of Paradox Interactive if you asked me

Defenitly recommend it, I liked CK2 already for the same reasons I like CK3, You can change the course of history but in a Roleplaying kinda of way, It's not your regular Europa Universalis where you just control a map and wait for RNG to produce an heir, No, if you want your heir, you need to seduce them, Sway them to like you.

If you want to split someone else's realm you don't need to wait for RNG, but Challenge him to a Trial of Death or Murder him. Catch him in a war, imprison and kill him...

Tons of stuff I like about the series

Now the "bad"
I feel like CK3's AI might be a bit clunky
I feel like CK3 requires a lot of knowledge from youtubers and pro CK3 Streamers in order to be good at the game
RNG F's you as much as it helps you

But I feel those things generally do not influence much of the game experience, except getting killed by a bear in my last stream with 75% chance of surviving it and killing the bear.... Poor Sigurd "Snake in the Eyes"

Game keeps getting updated and achievements gets added expansion after expansion
I'm curious what the future of this game has in store for us...

Latest Expansion Released when written this review: Friends and Foes Event Pack

I would recommend all the packs to add the full experience in the game
I only slightly dislike the Fate Of Iberia Pack but... that's a personal opinion

Definitly recomend it, I'd rate it 8.9/10

opinion mostly remain unchanged- same review remains almost unchanged

Reasons:

1. Survivor based game: Each time a new killer gets released with it's survivor the killer perks are as good as useless or already nerfed to much from the PTB
2. DbD Community: The most unfun and Toxic community ever seen and I'd even dare to say that Moba communities are less bad then this one. As a killer main you get nothing but SWF's (Survive With Friends) who make the game unfair and will use everything against you to bully you gameplay wish even though DbD states that It's "Gameplay abuse"
example given: Using exploits, Body Blocking (read report for Gameplay abuse)
3. Community of META Slaves: Honest to god how much I HATE Meta slaves, The use of Meta perks is to freaking annoying all the time. Killers don't really have "META PERKS' meaning that the Meta slaves only play this game
4. No fun for Solo Que: As a result to that, Solo que survivors get slaughtered because they face killers who face nothing but 4 man toxic SWF's


Personal reasons for hating DbD:
1. Boon totems broke the game
2. Dead Hard "Nerf" broke the game because it resulted into a DbD Buff
3. As a killer main you get nothing but SWF's You need to leave and reque over 20 times to see the same high level survivors in the lobby, to see the same lobbies who already have 3-4 players in them. To get the same experience of facing a toxic SWF EVERY SINGLE TIME
4. It's just NOT FUN as survivor sided game: Killer complains never get heared, Unless it's another Killer nerf that OTZDarva asks. wich BTW is NOT the general DbD Killer player! OTZ's Influence on buffing survivors and making the game survivor sided. Ruined the game
5. SWF's is still allowed: As long as SWF's are allowed not a SINGLE killer is going to have fun against sweaty freaking survivors doing nothing but Queing to ruin someone's evening! It's disgusting!
6: every time there is a new killer, if you're a killer main you get bullied with the most toxic SWF's when playing it, play as survivor and you get the most skilled player that no lifed the PTB on the new killer... The game is unfixable

Been playing thso game for almost 600H AND STILL i feel like DbD was never worth the time! Because you only have fun the very first 15h that you play a certain side and a soon as you get those try hard, that's it. Fun over and you're already addicted cuz it USED to be fun!

DbD needs to start listening to the killer community! And start Nerfing Survivor to the ground
Killer main after Killer main leave the game and More will leave if Survivors get buffed ALL THE FREAKING TIME and speaking about when playing survivor, SWF's need to dissappear so MMR can be fixed. You need to be a 4man swf to have a decent game

And every time you return to the game after breaks of 10 days or even more It's the same process all over and over again.


End Result: 0/10 Although if I were really allowed to put negative score, it's a -10/10

Won this game at a give-away and i'm going to be completly honest... I find this a boring concept,
sure the game got me thinking for a few moments but i couldn't last even 1h playing the game because it has no... purpose...

no in game dialogue. always the same things and I just don't feel like this is worth the purchase
Lucky for me that i've won this in a giveaway... but i wouldn't have installed it if i haven't won it.
