Ignore all the haters, sure the devs may not do the best balance patches but the community is waaaay to hard on the poor devs. They listen and don't deserve nearly the hate they get. It's actually insane this game is amazing I have some gripes like how easily you ragdoll but the game is still amazing nonetheless and the devs have been going crazy with updates and content tbh.

They do a great job this game is fun, it's like Michael bay directed it, even 40 minute matches feel like a movie the entire way through, the genre depends on you and your match can be a comedy where everyone ragdolls everywhere and limbs are flying, it can be an action movie with bullets flying anywhere, a horror movie when it's foggy and hard to see and you hear rumbling in the distance, or a brutal tale of betrayal as your friends "accidently" shoot you in the back.

These Devs do not deserve this hate and I'm frankly disappointed in how many people are actually not recommending this game esp when you have worse developers out there and games that have higher ratings.

I don't often write reviews, but I've been playing this game and it really clicked for me this time (not that it wasn't fun before) but it's amazing, the community the devs are what you are looking for in any game wholesome and do an amazing job. Sure there is some cosmetic DLC but really besides being cool af I buy them to support the devs, there are an insane amount of free cosmetics you really don't need to buy the dlc's but I urge you to do so to support the devs.

I moved from DBD due to the toxicity and this game is a breath of fresh air it's the complete opposite of modern gaming, it isn't microtransactioned from hell, it doesn't shove a ton of bs down your throat like ad's etc. You can really tell the devs car about this game.

Game play is simply amazing, all 4 classes are useful in their own way and for the most part none of them are useless for any of the mission types they all fit really well. It's a horde shooter you shoot bugs and do various missions, protect a drilling platform as it moves through the level (not as bad as those escort missions in most games), a protect the site, kill big stronk bug, mine x amount of material etc. From there you can get various modifiers when doing said missions, everything is randomly generated so no map is the same over and over again just specific environments you can play that have reoccurring stuff like fauna, bug types, etc. The caves that you go into also vary in length of the mission and complexity which can be very interesting I had a complex one today that I really loved the layout it just was so fun to move around in. So..many...upgrades...and cosmetics.

If that doesn't sell you you can drink beer inbetween missions with your fellow dwarves and so many voicelines for various things you do in mission and in your main hub that are hilarious. The community is so wholesome and has it's little fun quirks like you gotta respond to "ROCK AND STONE" with your own ROCK AND STONE, buying everyone a round of beers before/after missions, it's crazy how players respect each other when ordering supplies there are 4 slots to fill ammo and health you'll often see people take 1 to leave it for the other players so you don't often run into supply/ammo hogs, the amount of help each class gives each other too is just so good, the engi and scout combo is chefs kiss.

Idk what I can really say about this game other than it's simply amazing, it's what modern gaming should be it's a beautiful work of art that doesn't ask you to pull out your wallet at every turn, you don't miss any cosmetics etc by joining "late" which FOMO is an issue I can have at times, that cool hate/beard/etc you can acquire have no fear! Even if you play alone you get a little robot to help you mine, fight in combat, and even revive you so you aren't truly alone if you are more of a solo player but once in awhile try opening it up and play with others this is one of the best communities I've ever come across.

For those of you commenting on my profile the point being is don't support the company and their bs practice. I don't recommend buying it because of their actions.

Amazing game so far I absolutely love it, I put off getting it because I hate rockstar with a burning passion and their always online DRM social club, it feels like a rockstar version of GFWL if anyone remembers that heaping wreck. Their single players games are amazing, the online portions (haven't done RDO so I mean GTAO) are cash grabs that are either insanely grindy or just require you to spend insane amounts of money and the anticheat last I played was the worse I'd seen, I don't often run into hackers in online games except for GTAO. Back to RDR2 amazing game super fun I do recommend it, except social club you can't play it offline. I live rural and when my internet works if it does or I'm at somewhere else and the internet decides it doesn't wanna play nice with social club or social club is bugging out, good luck playing the single player game you paid for. I get it you don't want people to pirate the game, but I wish I had. It's sad when modders make a better user experience and it makes you actively not want to buy the game. Even now having a bit more access to internet these days I still will not recommend a game that has always online DRM for singleplayer. Unfathomably dumb especially for people who actually buy your game and want to support the dev. ♥♥♥♥ Rockstar and it's social club, amazing games ♥♥♥♥ way to handle everything else. Go sail the seas out of spite for it's horrendous DRM.

Revising this review again cause sure why not. More surv nerfs to the point where this game isn't even fun to ♥♥♥♥ around with anymore killers sweat like it's some esports tournament, I refuse to ever do solo after how hard the nerfs have been only hardly playing with a full stack. The most recent update I think finally did it in, I'm uninstalling this game. I'm just not having fun anymore, this base is toxic. My life has improved playing literally anything else, it used to be my main game but I can't anymore, if you aren't a masochist don't even bother picking this game up the devs don't care and have the dumbest takes. I say this as I often don't complain about devs I feel bad most devs get abuse from their players but this one deserves it tbh. The only reason this game is alive is because the sheer amount of exclusive content of Res Evil, Hellraiser, Halloween etc the devs got license to, the fact they really don't have a lot of competition. If you are a new player don't even bother it will take you too long to get good enough at the game to not get tunneled and camped out (unless you don't like playing the game for the first hundred hours or so). I have stopped bringing in friends or anyone to play this game because I simply cannot in good faith ask them to try when the killer slugs everyone to BM and they are still learning the ropes, or end up on a hook/dead most of the game. The only time I'd say sure go for it is Kill Your Friends as a party mode with a group of 5 but I ask you to reconsider giving these devs anymore money either. Don't waste your time go play any other game who respects it's player base and don't actively try and promote toxicity with an us vs them mentality. Playing killer isn't a walk in the park either but right now neither side is just fun it's nothing but sweating and toxicity. I can't even manage to get high and play with friends and have fun anymore, this game has gotten worse every year, all the devs know how to do is nerf perks or killers into the ground instead of buffing any other perks or making anything not OP or completely useless there is no inbetween. Want a community that loves it's devs and the devs love their game go play Deep Rock Galactic, I will stan that game it's everything DBD is not, it is fun, the devs care, awesome and wholesome community.

This used to be a good game. Now anytime survivors get a semi decent perk it's nerfed into the ground because killers whine they mom doesn't love them if they don't get 4k every match. I have played killer too it's not hard to get a few kills each match using basic mechanics like tracking god forbid you learn to play people, I've gotten immensely better as a killer by learning to play survivor and how survivors think and act. I don't expect to survive every match or get kills every match but I like to have fun, but it doesn't become fun when you get tunneled or camped the whole match. Sure running a killer around is fun until they put hook spawns closer, made pallets spawn further away, add aura seeing perks for killers for just about everything, now several exit/exhaustion blocking perks god forbid I wanna escape can't use a window, or my lithe/dead hard/etc so now your only choice is to walk away from a killer that walks faster than you and is gaining bloodlust.

Killers all ♥♥♥♥♥ and whine and cry literally wanting to remove SWF (I hope they do remove it so it can kill the game and watch as killers wait even longer between matches). Stealth isn't a thing now really might as well run across the map, oh and all the mori perks those are awesome nothing like being killed instantly after your first hook (but decisive strike was op and apparently still is, and so was meddle of man now they are basically useless). Killer is ok but not a ton of skill is involved anymore when perks basically scream at you where someone is, a couple of tracking perks you'll see every so often killers run. I haven't really seen a survivor meta perk build I've seen some common ones but nowhere near as common as a killer meta. It's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ when damn near every killers runs same perk all the time you can basically count on altering gameplay around those perks, bbq and chili, noed (let's reward killers for not killing anyone all game but being able to escape one chase with Decisive strike was too much and apparently game breakiing).

I don't play killer all that much because I prefer to play with my friends but playing as a killer isn't as hard as everyone makes it out to be playing as a survivor sucks ass sometimes you have a fair match with a few deaths few runs other times you get stomped, but it is common to get really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ matches, where a killer tunnels and camps you so now you spend the entire match hanging from a hook and dieing only to be called trash at the end. I would get fun matches where all 4 players died and it wasn't so bad but now it's just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it's not even fun anymore.

I've put a lot of hours in but I cannot take this game anymore it's becoming more toxic as the community grows larger, where all they want is to sell killer dlc and people ♥♥♥♥♥ survivors didn't start on the hook for them. Hell survivors can be toxic too some are asshats to the killer (no looping isn't toxic it's our only defense what else do you expect you ♥♥♥♥♥♥ stealth, the game can go from fun to boring as soon as a killer decides to be a douche), others sandbag you by running a killer over you, they drop pallets in your face so the killer can whack you, etc survivors aren't innocent but atm they have the ♥♥♥♥ end of the stick. I don't regret my early hours of play through as it used to be a fun game now I get FUN BUGS SUCH AS NOT GETTING TO USE ANY ABILITIES, INCLUDING E PERKS, AND OTHERS SUCH AS HEALING... ANYTHING, BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE! STRUGGLING! That's all fun going into a match and being completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over and losing a rare item or getting moried about instantly.

♥♥♥♥ this game ♥♥♥♥ the community it used to be good I still love this game it holds a special place as I've met friends through it and had many laughs but it's utter and complete ♥♥♥♥ now it's not fun anymore to be a survivor killer yeah esp cause you get to join in about ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about survivors and suggesting how to nerf a survivors perks that don't let you get 4k, you can be a totaly douche nozzle and hold matches hostage!

I don't recommend this game anymore don't give them anymore money play literally anything else. I may come off as a salty survivor but I've played killer I like tracking and stuff but it's not super prevalent most common now is just getting an aura around a survivor for just about anything (waiting on the one that shows you a survivor as they walk or breath), it's just trying to play with friends is ass anymore since most of the game is "balanced" (if you can even call it that) around a 4 stack but there is no voice chat or dedicated servers and even then it's ass. That ♥♥♥♥♥♥ killer with ♥♥♥♥♥♥ internet, oh yeah that man is gonna have a field day with you his hits will register when you're clear across a map hopping a window and pallet stunning his ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ right! When your perks activate but like don't that's so fun watching you activate a perk and it does nothing!

Revised cause steams asking, it's still ♥♥♥♥ and still toxic it's the only game really that does this type of genre so it's addictive but it's still ♥♥♥♥, it just has no competition.

Steam asking again, no still whining killer mains even more surv nerf, I have played both sides and neither side was fun but ya devs lets over correct to killer side because they just cry all the time. I'm addicted to the game and I hate so, but I hope one of these times I uninstall it for good, don't waste your time. This game requires too much investment to not get steam rolled by a killer, 200 hours ahh look a baby player, I have 1k hours I still find people with way more hours than me. Don't even bother let this game die like it belongs.
