Average to bad story. Terrible online. Money hungry publisher. Missing features and details from the previous game that came out years earlier.

Lazy story design, starting out strong then quickly dissolving into a forgettable mess of bad missions.

Rampant cheaters in public online lobbies, though with 500+ hours, trainers are also the only way you can have fun in online mode too. If you want to do online missions, hope you love fetch quests or playing the same heists over and over again.

Doesn’t help that the publisher, Take 2, decided to shut down OpenIV while Rockstar was praising modding at the same time, so Take 2 could think that they were taking care of online trainers, when they were just blowing their foot off. Absolutely brain dead.

I'm disappointed with myself by buying this game twice (Xbox 360 and PC).

Ok so I never review games, like, ever. But I'm reviewing this game. Why? Because I've never been on such an emotional roller coaster in a game, yet, had such a great time. I laughed. I cried (literally, tears were shed, not only once either). I was angry, and I was happy. But most importantly, I had fun for the entirety of the game. At no point in my 12 hour play through I wasn’t having fun or enjoying the story. In fact, it felt a lot more like a 4-6 hour game.

Undertale is a game that I can see myself going back to and replaying just to see more and enjoy it all over again, even if I get the same ending. I grew up in the 64-bit/ps1 era so I have no nostalgia for the graphics style of this game, but I felt that the graphics style throughout the game fit the scenario and that it most likely would not have been as attention drawing if it was 3d. It also has a great soundtrack.

My only gripe with it is that you cannot rebind keys, though it isn’t too bad and it definitely does not withdraw from the experience. I’d just rather WSAD over arrow keys. But I can also see why he made the choice over WSAD for certain sections of the game.

I never knew that I could become so attached to video game characters to make me legitimately care for them like I would a real person. I did a pacifist run of this game which I feel is the best way to experience this game for the first time, and even then I didn’t get to experience everything this game has to offer. I do not recommend doing a genocide run for your first play through because, to quote South Park “you’re gonna have a bad time” and it simply isn’t as fun.

My final thoughts are that Undertale is one of the best games this year and it took me on an adventure that I’ll probably never forget. For $10 this game is a steal compared to other triple-A games that have come out in recent years.
