CrossCode basically got good things in store for most people:
Are you an explorative (j/a/mmo-)RPG player or the completionistic/character-building hack'n'slay fan? This could be your next favourite game! Do you prefer twin-stick shooters or rather character action games? Doesn't matter, CrossCode got you covered~ Or you like challenging puzzle-(plattformer-)games, but are seeking a new perspective on things? This might be the game you're looking for! (...Get it? Because it has a tricky top-down camera~) If you need a story-driven game, love sci-fi themes or just like or even hate anime tropes: CrossCodes world and characters keep you involved, or you can choose to just ignore them and let the gameplay do all the talking!

It's actually hard to think of a reason why you wouldn't give CrossCode a try and you definitely should, since there's even a free demo right under your nose! The only negative point that comes to mind is that you will have to go through a pretty linear, lengthy and text-heavy introduction/tutorial area of the game (which is unfortunately also the entire content of the demo afaik) until the world finally starts to open up for you and lets the player roam more freely if that is what you mostly care about. Other than that it comes down to what kind of player you are, since there's a chance you will either find the puzzles or fights a tad too demanding, but in that case you shouldn't feel bad about making use of internet resources to find some solutions or enemy weak points to get to the next chunk of your preferred content more quickly and less frustrated (you know, kinda like Dark Souls :^)) …at least until the devs decide to implement an ingame hint-system and adjustable difficulty settings~ (For now just be ensured that all fights are winnable even far below the recommended level and make sure to take all the sidequests to fasten up the leveling process in the background, before you complain about "The Grind")

Only thing left to say is that there are probably many people like myself, who have similar games from their childhood that they hold above all other (be it Secret of Mana, Terranigma or A Link to the Past, which are all without a doubt great timeless classics), but for me that nostalgic spot in my heart now belongs to CrossCode, even while it's still in early access~
