This game is so insufferable to play now that I only play to get 2-3 of the dailies done and then I hop off. I'm only continuing to play so I can use all of the premium currency (I made the mistake of buying) on battle passes. Once my coins run out, I'm uninstalling.

It's just so sad to see a once beloved IP get mismanaged and turned into a cash cow. The whole reason why this game has a 2 at the end of it, the PvE mode, has been cancelled. The majority of skins that were made in the same theme as the battle pass is locked behind an extra $20 paywall each. Playing tank is soul-sucking. Playing support is frustrating.

Just play Marvel Rivals or literally anything else. It isn't worth playing even if they pay YOU to play it.

I usually want to hunt all the achievements for games I really like, but for this one, it turns out that I was a completionist in three different ways:

1. Getting every achievement
2. Getting the game itself to 100% by unlocking all CGs
3.

So anyways, this is a great VN. I highly recommend it.

I played this game so much when I was younger on PS3. I had every car, ruled every road, owned every DLC, played hundreds and hundreds of hours of it. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if I had well over a thousand hours into the original release 12 years ago. Paradise is one of my favourite games of all time.

So you can imagine my excitement when I found out that they were making a remaster of it. And I'm also happy that EA did a very un-EA thing and didn't put in any microtransactions. However, it was on consoles and Origin only. The very minimal graphical improvements wasn't enough for me to go out of my way to play it on Origin.

But now that EA released it on Steam and at a serious discount, I picked it up day 1 and played it non-stop until I got 100% in this game again. I'm sad that I didn't dive into it when it released two years ago, but I am also happy that I waited until it came onto Steam.

Playing this game again reminded me as to why I loved this game so much, and I know that I will continue playing this again from time to time, as long as there are people playing online with me. ^^

Pros:
-Fantastic old game given new life in this re-release
-Flawless performance
-Higher resolution textures, shadows, anti-aliasing, etc. Digital Foundry video about all the upgrades
-Online works perfectly, just like the original game (before EA shut those servers down)
-All DLC included at no extra cost, including Big Surf Island (Map expansion previously exclusive to PS3/X360)
-Zero microtransactions

Cons:
-No added in eye-candy like denser foliage or cities, so it barely looks better than the original PC version of the game.
-Not that large of a playerbase, at least according to Steam Charts[steamcharts.com].
-Origin is still required to run this game, even though it's on Steam. (Like Uplay with Ubisoft titles)

I hope this sold enough to let Criterion return to this series. The last proper Burnout game was the original version of this game back in 2008, so it's been a very long time.

I've only played this game for the first time recently with two other friends who also have never played the Half-Life games. Using Sven Co-Op, we had an absolute blast playing this game. It was revolutionary for 1998 and it still shows how amazing it is to this day almost 20 years later. This game is in a class of its own.
