EYE is one of those games where I feel like it's essential to acknowledge that this game isn't "good", but it's very interesting and if you can get past the initial hurdles there is fun to be had.

There's a ton of core design problems from the map design to translation and the story not really making sense without looking up an explanation of what the hell is happening, but the actual gameplay feels good (if you can get a few levels) and the sheer overcomplexity due to converting a table top system into an RPG FPS gives the game a really unique feel.

EYE also has a really unique visual style due to effectively being a Source mod, it has the graphical fidelity of Half-Life 2 while attempting to be Warhammer (which makes sense given what the devs later went on to make). This combination of HL2 era fidelity with large open maps and Warhammer theming gives the game a very specific feel that I can't really describe, but it's certainly unique and creates almost surreal dreamscapes at times. It's something you won't see in other games, for better or worse.

I think there's definitely interesting ideas here and the game is fun provided you can get past the initial hurdles. It took me three tries trying to play this game, once every few years, before it really clicked and I was able to get into it, and I understand that might be a bit much for some people - if you are willing to stick with it then there's a ton of fun to be had in sprinting around and smacking stuff with a big hammer or blasting things to kingdom come with a 3000 RPM SMG.

Moorhuhn practices colonialism and genocides natives to steal their ancient artifact

The level design is a lot more open and maze-like than the first game which makes some of the later levels absolute agony to play, while I didn't enjoy the first game much I did at least want to finish it. Around halfway through this game I started to get reaaaaally sick of it and wanted the game to just end already.

The final bonus level is a remake of the first level from the first game which is cool though!

Imagine DKC but it controls kinda badly and you have a gun.

On a serious note it took me way longer than it should've to figure out there was a punch button so I ended up getting stuck near the end of the game for a few minutes because you NEED to punch a skeleton to progress. At no point in the game do you get told how to punch or that you can even do it unless you look at the controls (default bind is Y for some reason).

This game isn't really bad, it's just painfully mediocre.

After playing the other Moorhuhn/Crazy Chicken games, this was a bit of a surprise. It's actually good! It's a pretty simplistic action RPG in the same vein as Diablo, and it's surprisingly competently made. I'd probably recommend playing on hard since it actually makes you think a little.

Call me crazy but I kinda want a sequel...

I'm glad to be able to experience ducks anywhere, anytime, but currently the ducks eat your input if you try and scroll your mouse wheel while hovering over them. You also can't click through them, so they make navigation a little difficult. You do however get a bunch of ducks on your desktop, so I can't complain. Would duck again.

A little jank here and there but well worth the price. You can play through everything the game has to offer in just a few hours but what's here is a love letter to an older time. The story is structured like TS1 where you simply grab an object and return to the start, but the level designs and themes are a nice mix of TS1 and TS2 with some unique ideas thrown in for good measure. If you're a TimeSplitters fan, it's a no brainer - pick this up, it's fun.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love this game so much. Pretty much the entire main cast are brilliant, even if some of them are a little annoying at first. If you've played Zero Escape you know exactly what to expect in terms of writing, in a lot of ways this feels like an evolution of Zero Time Dilemma/999 specifically (but not the bad parts of ZTD): sprinklings of pseudoscience weaved with a bizarre plot that makes sense by the end with light sci-fi elements, touching on slightly heavy topics with some really hard emotion hitting scenes all throughout.

The puzzles are a bit different in that they all take place in the titular somniums and you have a 6 minute time limit that is affected by moving or interacting with objects, so the puzzles end up being somewhat simple/short but might take a couple tries to figure out how to solve them within the allotted time limit. Since the puzzles all take place within dreams they also have dream logic; as in you might need to do something that doesn't necessarily make sense. It's not too hard to experiment and figure this out though.

There are a couple plot elements that don't really make much sense to me such as how the flowchart actually works in terms of the game's overall story and why a certain pregnant woman was walking the wrong way in a very specific scene (seriously, she was walking AWAY from the only way out of the area? It gets established in another part of the game that there's no path around the back) but these are pretty minor gripes given how much I enjoyed it overall.

Also after beating the game you unlock dance mode. Enough said.

Highly, HIGHLY recommend.

I really love the original Portal so I made the big mistake of trying to unlock all the achievements in Portal RTX. I did end up doing it, but the road there was incredibly tedious and annoying.

For context I have a 4070. Put simply, Portal RTX runs like ass. It's incredibly pretty looking and very impressive, especially for what is effectively a live asset swap on top of a game from 2007 - but no matter what I do I can not get it to run well. Even on the lowest possible settings it will run at over 100 fps but every few seconds it will stutter and drop to 10 fps. The fact that Portal is Portal makes this less of an issue since you don't really need fast reactions for most of this game, but it makes the whole experience significantly worse.

There are also a lot of ways the game can crash. Tabbing out is enough to make the game instantly crash and the Steam overlay doesn't work either, so you better be damn sure that you have everything set up and you won't have any interruptions after clicking the play button. Sometimes the game will decide to crash on the splash screens anyway, and sometimes the game will decide to crash on the main menu as well. If you can get into the game, congratulations, you now have to avoid tabbing out and hope that the game doesn't spontaneously decide to crash.

If you decide to play the advanced chambers/challenge chambers, I hope you enjoy long load times. For some reason loading the challenge maps caused the game to hang for upwards of a few minutes, and I had similar issues when loading saves from late in the main game as well. Completing a challenge map would also cause the game to hang for a minute or so, which is incredibly annoying when there are 18 challenges to complete. This version of the game also doesn't seem to recognise when you unlock new chapters, so if you click "new game" your only choice is to start from the very beginning every time. Very strange.

If you have a card capable of playing this I would at the very least recommend it as a fun little tech demo, but as an actual game it is agonising and infuriating to play. I think the achievement stats tell you everything you need to know: 50% of people finished the original game, but only 15% finished Portal RTX. You don't need to be part of that 15%. I recommend you don't be part of that 15%.

Let me be clear, the content included in this DLC is good. The issue is the price. It costs 43% of the base game in the UK and for that money you are getting ONE heist and THREE weapons. You can include the suits, masks, and gloves if you care about them, but I personally don't because they don't affect the game in any tangible way.

The base game contains 8 heists and 17 weapons. If we're going pound for pound, this DLC should cost somewhere between 12% and 17% of the full game's price. Let's say 14% because that lets us get a nice round number of just £5. This DLC costs 3x that (£15).

Is this DLC good? Yes.
Is it 3x the value of the content in the base game good? No.

Buy on sale or wait until they reduce the price.
