PROS

- The world design is absolutely stunning. It doesn't come as a surprise given that's a 2022 Bethesda AAA game that the graphics are phenomenal. But besides that, as someone living currently in Japan I was positevely surprised by the amount of detail in Shibuya city and how well it resembles the reality. Plus, the collectibles, the enemies, and the yokai were also designed very beautifully art wise.
- It's surprisingly educational, which is a plus if you are interested in japanese folklore and like to read in game info boxes.
- If you love to collect stuff, this game would scratch that itch
- The side quests are decent though a bit too simple/easy

CONS

- The gameplay is repetitive, and unoriginal. The enemies are all killed in a very similar manner and after you are introduced to all of them it's just a repetition of the same characters over and over again.
- The storyline is extremely short. If you focus only on the main quest you can finish it in 10 hours. Not a great value if you ask me. Also, it's a linear story and there's no choices, therefore no replayability.
- The characters are forgettable, you never really feel any sympathy for what's happening to them. The main character is very vanilla, and zero customizing options besides some outfits.
- This game is a completionist nightmare. In order to platinum the game you have to spend endless hours doing chore-like activities which in no way make the game more interesting or challenging. Specially since there are randomly triggered situations of which you have no control.
- Is marketed as horror despite not being scary at all, eerie at best
- The money system is pointless given that there are not many things to buy (and too many useless things like emotes and music).
- You can only carry a maximum of 20 arrow, AFTER buying all of the perks

I could go on, but I'm tired. People compared this game with Cyberpunk but besides maybe a few visual cues to me is NOT alike. Cyberpunk allowed for customization, actual roleplaying, different gameplay styles, many things to do in the city, interesting side quests, hours of endless fun. Bugs and all, it's far superior than this game.

My conclusion, buy it ONLY ON SALE, and ONLY IF YOU LOOOVE JAPANESE FOLKLORE.

First and foremost, I have to say this is not a game for everyone. I completely understand how opinions might be divided. However, I personally loved this game, EVEN the infamous gameplay of repetitive package delivering.

The visuals are beautiful, the story is interesting, the music makes great company, the acting is superb, and the ending with more than one twist definetely met my expectations. Yes, I hoped for a more diverse array of quests, as the main and secondary ones are basically all the same (deliver a package from A to B), but I still had a good fun, specially after getting the hang of zip-lines and being able to move fast all over the map.

Don't expect much action of this game, there's a tiny bit of figthting but is nothing compared to just walking and talking to people. Also, there's no choices, you don't get to chose Sam's decisions and life path as you are more of an observant. However, the "walking" parts are very well made, it's the first RPG I've played where the inventory management is realist and everything you carry you can see and feel in the character movements and weight. Though, at some point, you'll get tired of walking everywhere and zip-lines will save your life. The passive online features are also quite interesting, being able to feel you are in a community of porters even if everyone is playing their own game.

The reward systems, which consists on "likes", was hard for me to grasp after being used to receiving "money" in every other game. But I do understant this system makes sense in the game because there's no real use for money.

In all honesty, the lack of options you have in this game makes it feel like a long movie. But it is a really beautiful one.

9/10 do recommend (for some people)

Well, after 90+ hours of gameplay I can definetely say I recommend this game.

The negatives:

- Yes it has bugs, as most AAA rpgs have, but none has been game breaking for me. The worst bugs I've encountered are the ones which made me impossible to take this game to 100%: 1) i finished a mission but it remains as pending 2) a sidequest got bugged and could never trigger the boss and 3) the sidequest/gig never triggers but it still shows in my map. Of course, as a completionist these things bug me, but I'm sure a hotfix is on the way as I've seen too many people with this same problem. I still had no problem with saves and the main storyline.
- Even though I'm content with 4 (or 5) different endings, I have to say the one thing they all have in common (no spoilers) I was disappointed with. Yes, I expected something different at the end. It was good, nonetheless.
- Character customization is not as good as we anticipated. The background choices at the beginning won't change a thing in the storyline, and overall I don't feel I could make such a different character if I were to replay it.

Positives:

- The gameplay is super fun, the controls are intuitive and comfortable. The dialogues are rich and the fights vary in complexity. I really like all the different weapons and tech you can use to get in or out of conflict. Also the option of going stealth is always appreciated (although, not my personal style)
- The visuals are beautiful. I simply loved the art, the aestethic, you get completely into this world and there's nothing corrupting the scenery. You actually believe that's how the world might look like in 2077. Also, I'm in love with the futuristic fashion, the japanese style in particular.
- The storyline. Characters are interesting, and make long lasting impressions. It was so fun getting to meet all of these people and the intricacy of the different relationships. Also, romance is available, yay
- The amount of information (lore) in the game is abundant. For those who love to get more into the world and the story, there's so much to read (shards) + listen (radio, tv). Even small gigs have little details to find.
- Diversity. Night City is very diverse regarding its people and therefore cultures and languages. Beautiful to see.

Damn this review got too long. You know what you like. If open world rpgs are your thing this one is great. Also, great potential for future DLCs and a whole franchise coming out from it!

I played this game for the first time years ago in Nintendo DS. When I saw it on Steam recently, I didn't think twice. I just love it SO much. There's something in the story, in the characters, in the music and sound effects (voice acting? what's that), that compells you to keep playing. You just NEED to get to the bottom of every single case. Our main character deserves to win his cases!
100% recommended, one of my favorite games.

This game is worth every penny. So much content, even withouth the DLCs, which, btw, are awesome! Specially Blood and Wine. Locations, NPSc, sidequests, monsters, treasure hunts, dialogues, and gwent! Oh yes, gwent. This mini game makes the whole game's price worth it.

With 150+ hours in, I still feel I can squeeze more content out of this game, however I'm 100% satisfied with the amount I was able to play. The storyline keeps you so interested all throughout the main quest. I assure you won't skip any dialogue or scene. With a bunch of action, a sprinkle of humor, and more than a few hot scenes to remember, this game is well deserving of it's praise. How about a round of gwent?

My best summer sale purchase by far. It's a really fun platformer, the narrator is a mix between nuts and hilarious, you can unlock weapons, characters, the art is pretty and the coop mod is great. The levels are specially designed in the coop mode, where you need your pal to beat it. The beat-the-clock levels sometimes are reeeally hard, but if you like challenges you'll love them. Those are encore levels, btw, so if you don't want to run against the clock you can still play the normal levels.
I totally recommend it!! Buy it for you and your friends, you won't regret it.

It's a really fun game, it's amazing if you have friends to play with, but I usually play it on my own and have fun too. Very addictive, enjoyable, and the best part... So cheap!! Totally worth it.

I have to admit that it's quite exaggerated, you run too fast and jump damn high, and as 7grain said, is not actually racing, but, who cares? It's fun anyway :)

The best RPG I've played, by far. After hours and hours of playing it, after many nights of barely sleeping, after making all the main quests, guild quests, and as many side quest as I could find, after modding it as much as I wanted, after collecting all I could find in my way, after having hours of fun taking awesome screenshots, I can still sit in my computer and discover new things with it. If you haven't tried it yet, what are you waiting for?

Beautiful puzzle game, with an amazing art, just the right amount of difficulty, nice music, and a lot of entertainment, a really nice game, highly recommendable for those who likes point'n click, puzzle and casual games.
