Wow.

This is the Linux of controllers. There's nothing it can't do.

Looks like it was written in the 8-bit era by a finite number of blind chimpanzees, but somehow chomps its way through 50 gig of storage. Makes no sense to me. Far better games are far better than this.

Almost perfect. Almost.

Call of the Dead, Buried and Tranzit would have polished this DLC off perfectly. I would have paid £50 for this DLC if those maps had also been remastered.

Good game, despite the publishers holding it back from Steam for so long.

But the quality of life just plain sucks. I mean - damn! - just look at the bare basics: input. More specifically, its controller implementation. (Yeah, I enjoy SP gaming on the tellybox through Steam Link, so decent controller support is a must.)

Whoever decided on the absurdly low controller sensitivities must have had a cruel sense of humour, since no matter how much you try to tweak them, they're just. So. Damn. Low. I know 2033 and Last Light were bad, but this game just lowers the bar to Barney Gumble sleeping off a keg in Moe's toilets.

It's THAT bad.

Thankfully, though, the devs released a patch with full Steam Controller support. Fantastic! I'll just configure the SC! And, y'know, it's a make-do. I can play, but FULL STEAM CONTROLLER SUPPORT? Ha-ha! No. Not. The game doesn't so much as implement a hardware cursor, so binding anything more than a half-assed config would take longer than it takes to complete the game.

Lazy, lazy, lazy.

And that's the state of PC gaming in general. Games may look pretty, sound great, and fill up all that useless free space on my HDD, but they almost always completely miss the fundamentals: user quality of life. The Metro Exodus developers didn't even try. The just didn't give a damn.

Hynu loves it. Dunno if that's worth anything in and of itself, but it's a fine romp in the wilderness. Maybe you'll like it too. I often play with myself, all discrete and whatnot, but I'm partial to joining others. I've a few friends who sometimes play with themselves, too, but every nowcand again we'll play with each other. A few strapping young lads getting up to who-knows-what in the woods, if you catch my drift. My mate Dave refuses to play it, but it's common knowledge he plays with himself. A LOT. Maybe too much, dunno.

Mordhau is a technical cut-em-up. It isn't ground-breaking, the graphics are maybe a 7 out of 10, and the audio is practical, with a UI that's easy enough to wrap your head around. Assuming you don't lose your head.

My mate Tristan likes it, so it's probably easy - right? Nah. No. Not. I said it was a technical cut-em-up didn't I? And by that, I means it ain't no point-click-kill game. You have to fight for your conquests. It takes skill, concentration, and skill. If you come to Mordhau thinking you can just wave you stabby thing around and hit the top of the leaderboard then think again. To excel at this game requires that you understand the game. Damn, to just do okay means learning from your mistakes (and that's a tough ask in itself).

Mordhau is a challenging game, and you'll love and hate it in equal measure. But me: I just so happen to love it. And hate it. A lot of hate. Really hate those guys on the other team. And the guys on my team. Hate them all.

Catch ya on the top o' me sword.

The clusterf**k that is Hunt: Showdown 1896 is what happens when a used car salesman convinces a AAA publisher that he can make it rain gold by hammering a square peg into a round hole.

Really, after over a thousand hours, I can no longer recommend this game to anyone. Sorry. It's just THAT bad. It gave me cancer.

Brilliant game. Keeps me company in the early hours. Not exactly played it yet - y'know, modding reasons - but I'm sure it'll live up to the hype.

Fantastic game. Can't wait to play it. Just one more mod then I'm done. For sure this time. Just one more...
