Great sequel

Music by Nine Inch Nails and edgy nightmare-like environment for gameplay

Does not have good optimization for PC. I had to run console commands just to have it run 1920 by 1080 resolution, and it still looked bad. I installed a high definition mod for better graphics and it increased the visuals but made loading screens 5 minutes long. You can't sprint at the start, the base building was unnecessarily dark, increasing ambiance lighting made it look like bootleg Borderlands, CTRL on keyboard is fire by default (?), and gameplay was boring. I enjoyed Quake 1 and 2... but not this one.

Play Doom 3 instead. It's a better Quake 4.

Using the chainsaw to constantly refill ammo got annoying, but the game is still good.

It's like DLC for Doom 1993. It's not as promising, but it's still great content.

All the classic MW2 maps should've been for MW2 2022 and all the classic MW3 maps should've been for MW3 2023. How is that so hard? How do they always continue to mess up Call of Duty? The game has been slop for years but people keep consuming it. I was gifted MW3 and I only play it with the boys.

Should I even start on engagement optimized matchmaking (EOMM)? The whole point of becoming better at CoD was to be rewarded with more kills, streaks, and wins. Now you're rewarded with harder lobbies and losses. No thank you. Even during a match where I stomp the enemy team, I feel that the win was only by the design of matchmaking in order for me to continue playing. In other words, I feel that I am simply being fed predetermined outcomes.

Best Doom game and Doom soundtrack

You run around for hours in the UAC research facility on Mars: a lab that has the most advanced technology but couldn't invest in emergency LED lights, so most of the time you're in the dark after the power outage (better turn off your lights irl and boost your monitor brightness because even the in-game flashlight won't be reliable when you have to put it away for a weapon). You'll get jump scared by imps with annoying lunge attacks, flanked by zombies, and go up against many other unique enemies with BS attacks all while being in very tight hallways and rooms. You can pick up audio logs that tell stories of what happened. They sometimes mention codes that help you unlock storage boxes which contain useful ammo and armor - but I didn't play this game to listen to a long audio documentary. I came to slay. So I looked up all the codes online.

Yeah, the game is mid. People who praise Doom 3 are more than likely being nostalgic. I enjoyed Doom 1 and 2 more and as soon as I started Doom 2016 for the first time after this entry, it was like a breath of fresh air after almost drowning in water.
