When I first got this game, I had 0 DLC, no clue how GS works, and effectively thought this was EUIV set earlier. I was very wrong, and I am glad for it. When sales rolled around, and I bought the content packed DLC, I had more fun than I ever did in EUIV. The added customization of family crests, empire names, and character paths only helped me become more immersed in the game, creating my own stories and themes. I would recommend this game for its unique, and I'd recommend its DLC [During Sales because screw buying them at full price] to only further enhance the experience.

This game has come a very long way from where it started. At first it was an unstable FPS tank that acted more as a test for your CPU than a game, but now it holds itself in the perfect light as a CQC lover's wet dream. Between the mass charges and shovel slinging Germans, there's no time to breathe, and even if you do, you'll probably suck in that sweet Chlorine Gas. I highly recommend this game for those willing to learn and those willing to die. This is World War 1. There's no sense, honor, tactics. There's only you, the enemy, and a mile of open ground between your trenches, and guess who's turn it is to cross it?

I've yet to write an actual review of this little game we know as Windward. Despite having played it for nearly two years now with passion and having met and befriended many members of the dev and admin team to the point where I myself was granted the opportunity to join them. What made Windward special for me lied in the Multiplayer. I was able to develop myself not as a player, but a character. What Windward lacks in complex storyline can be filled with our own imaginations. This is not a game one can enjoy in a mix-max style, where numbers are all that matters. You must shape your own story and spot in the world. Only then will you see the comradery and competition as something more, and oh how I love it.

Even though this gmae is in its Alpha, I strongly recommend you buy and play this game. Sir reminds me a bit of Amnesia minus the primary horror and physics engne but with guns, a day night cycle, and the ability to acually be able to KILL things. That said, this is a game about stealth, and requires you have alot of patience, distraction devices, and anti robot gun bandages. Seriously though, play this thing, totally worth the money.
