An Early Access game that works as advertised? Surprising, I know. If you've heard of Acquisitions Incorporated via Penny Arcade and enjoyed their antics, this is basically a chance for you to do the same by running your own adventuring company.

Picture yourself an owner of a company that employs RPG-trope characters and sending them on adventures solely with the idea to increase your wealth and your company's reputation while keeping yourself better than all the other adventuring companies out there...this is a very simple breakdown of the game.

In-depth you're looking at hiring and paying salaries to your employees, managing their abilities and that of the company's public face, and doing quests to help push your company higher than that of the others. By hiring specific classes of heroes, equiping them with found/purchased items, and then sending them out to quest you gain reputation and experience to both increase the power of your heroes and to increase the visibility and abilities of your company's headquarters. Do little and you find yourself falling behind the other companies out there, to the point where you get your Adventuring license revoked and the game is over.

A fine balancing act of questing, upgrading, and a healthy dose of RNG keep the game interesting. With random encounters including an element of RNG via dice-rolls to their narrative you could come across events that will propel your company ahead of the competition, or sometimes (ok, a lot of the times) find yourself in the clutches of some event that causes your company's image to be tarnished in some way.

It is a game that takes some trial and error, and there are currently some frustrating events (see: wound stacking), but the Developers are very active with their community of testers and are open to constructive feedback.
