Okay, so the African Kingdoms patch made the idle villager button stop working (for everyone), and the game - even in single player - lags a lot and drops frames (just for me, apparently). If you or anyone else you know finds a workaround or a fix for either/both of these issues, please let me know asap. :)

The voobly patch works now. All you need to do is reinstall it. :)

P.S. A member of the Microsoft team told me just now that they are fixing some of our lag as part of this new patch. This is very exciting if true!

He also told me that it would take two more days to finish making the mods compatible with the new update. (This was on Wednesday, June 17)

Okay so concerning the new patch, I figured it would be easier to put all of the information here rather than sending out individual information to everyone. So here goes:

Most of us don't have working mods or random maps. Right now the fix (per Blade's discovery) is to copy the random maps from:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Age2HD\Random

and paste them into:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Age2HD\resources\_common\random-map-scripts

I am still trying to figure out how to get any mods to work. If you figure it out, let me know, and I will update it here with credit to the first person that figured it out and told me. Glhf! :D

Additionally, for those of you that do not own the CD version of AOE, there is currently no way to play on voobly until the patch at http://www.aoccs.net/aochd/ is updated to reflect these changes. Again, I will try to remember to update this when I find out that the patch has been fixed. First one to tell me gets credit for the update. I hope voobly fixes it soon!

If you do not yet own the Forgotten Expansion, you can still play it. The largest part of the update was the gigantic merge of the Forgotten and HD lobbies. Now it is up to the lobby host to choose if the game will be played in HD or Forgotten, and eventually, the new DLC. If the lobby host selects the Forgotten as the game type, anyone who does not actually own the Forgotten will be able to play a few of the Forgotten and HD civs but on a rotating basis based on whatever civs Microsoft picks for that day. I know this sounds confusing but it will make things mostly fair and fun for everyone, whether they own the DLC or not. The best thing about this merge (IMHO) is that it will be much easier to find a decent game with spectators.
