The people over at Crowbar Collective deserve a round of applause for this remake of an already phenomenal game, especially in the Xen arc, they truly outdid themselves in that category.

I'll be working on a full review of the Master Chief Collection detailing my thoughts on the mainline games soon. For now, I'd say that with the continuous support and love from 343i in addressing flaws from previous updates (and other glitches present from prior versions of the Xbox One version) in addition to the ongoing content getting pumped out from the Halo community this is a must have in your library. Especially given how it's on sale as of this review.

Even if Infinite somehow ends up being a flop, get this.

So...... you wanted to learn how to do a ♥♥♥♥♥♥' infinite. You screwed up.

I got kicked in Versus just for saving my teammates. 10/10 Left4Kick

As of June 3, 2024, I cannot in good conscience give this game a positive review in it's current state for a multitude of reasons.

The elephant in the room, and the main reason why I have decided to change my review of this game, is essentially the core of the current online protest. That being Valve's anti-cheat system, VAC. Ever since the source code got leaked, VAC has proven to be completely ineffective at detecting and banning those who are blatantly violating the rules that it is supposed to be enforced against. Namely cheaters, bot hosters and aimbots that have been running rampant throughout casual and community servers alike for years. Barring some dramatic change of heart with Valve, this epidemic will continue with virtually no end in sight.

Furthermore, the issues with the current VAC system also affects CS2 as well, another insanely-popular Valve IP that is facing the same issue that TF2 has been dealing with for years. You'd think that with CS's popularity (in more ways than one) would prompt Valve to do something about over-hauling the anti-cheat system, let alone fixing it, right? That ultimately leads to my final reason as to why I have written this updated review...

Valve is apathetic. The writing was set in stone after they went back to deafening silence after concocting a half-baked response on the official Twitter account regarding how they "heard us". Since then, they've been investing more of their time and effort into other projects that will likely fail, rather than support the playerbase that has been loyal to them for years, and the "content" we've gotten since has shown (i.e. the seasonal updates that give us ~3 maps that everyone will forget about in a few months). If I may ask, whatever happened to the other Heavy update that we were supposed to get post-Jungle Inferno? Did you just give it the Half-Life: Lost Coast treatment too?

This review will continue to stay up unless dramatic, positive changes are made to the game with action, not empty promises.

So what's it going to be Valve? Initiative and fulfilled promises to fix the game as it should be? Or more of the current status quo? Choose wisely...
