Research before you buy.

If you aren't a fan of spending hundreds of hours learning esoteric game mechanics then avoid this and play something else. If you don't care about getting good then it isn't too bad, but the $30 price tag doesn't really justify that.

My biggest complaint? The mouth animations. I actually like the story and characters so far and the writing feels better than ME3. The idea of colonizing Andromeda is really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cool and a perfect direction for this series instead of continuing the whole "these aliens kill all organic life and theres nothing we can do to stop it."

Although this game does many things right, the story falls flat and comes across as superficially intelligent. It's just trying a little too hard to be unique and inventive with a weak plot that fails to deliver on the suspense it builds in the beginning of the game.

The description makes it sound like pottery, bartending, and impersonating people on the phone play a much bigger role but they're basically just the minigames that you do to drive the narrative along (in typical point-and-click fashion).

There is some philosophical toe-dipping into topics like "should freedom be sacrificed for happiness", "what does it mean to be human", etc but the game could really prod these topics a little more.

It really feels like this game is trying to pretend like it isn't a point and click game, but it is and there are plenty of games better at this price point.

Buy it when it's on sale otherwise it's kinda meh for $15.
Check out 'The Low Road' instead, the gameplay and story is better.
Or Gemini Rue. Actually, just stop reading this and go buy Gemini Rue. It's $10 and an actual cyberpunk game with a great story.

Great for board games and shenanigans with friends

An engaging story meets rewarding (though sometimes painfully sluggish) combat.
Play it for the story, the setting, the characters; just tolerate the combat.

It's worth your time.

For $20 you're getting a great experience of walking around and playing detective in a town that has a very detailed story. The amount of writing, images, diaries, and documents included in this game is seriously amazing to me, especially at this price point. You use a camera to take pictures of clues, locations, and to help you solve escape room style puzzles. It's such a simple gameplay idea but it's supported beautifully with a really fleshed out story that you have to piece together from diaries and other documents you find.

Your goal is simple: find out who committed the murders in Painscreek, how they did it, and why. To do this you'll need to look for clues, solve puzzles, and piece together the story on your own from diaries and exploring the town. But that isn't all. The game will throw a couple curve balls at you in the most amazing way possible. That sense of wonder and amazement in those moments is truly unique. You'll see what I mean right away.

Overall, if you like detective games with a story, you don't mind walking around a bit, and you enjoy puzzles, you'll find something to love in this game, as others have.

I tried to like this game, but if you're a fan of the first two BioShock games, you might not like this one. The change in scenery is too much for me. The story of Colombia was never told well. Elizabeth is cool and helpful, but her powers contribute nothing more than introducing small changes to your environment when you're fighting enemies. The powers for your character are pretty awful compared to plasmids and the weapons feel underpowered, underwhelming, and the combat in general is too open and easy.

This game was praised for its graphics at the time but I just never saw it. I'd rather play BioShock for an hour than try to play through this game in its entirety. The ending was cool, but it does feel forced when I look back on it.

Fun game if you're new, but as other reviews have stated "Whatever the hell this is, it ain't BioShock."

This game is incredibly fun and surprisingly polished for a HL2 mod. A few GUI updates would be nice but the gameplay itself is spectacular and never dull. I recommend muting the in game music and playing a spotify Western playlist in the background, it sets the mood perfectly.
