This game is ridiculous and hilarious and a surprisingly well playing shooter! Like actually shocking how fun and smooth it is to play! 10/10.

This game overall was very enjoyable and I'd say the first 3 chapters are a high point for the series. It feels like a very enticing mystery. The last 2 chapters though.... kinda take a bit of a nosedive but I still enjoyed my time with it. Will probably replay to see all the things I missed.

Early Access Review
This game could be great and I hope it does become great in the future but it doesn't necessarily fill me with hope given that almost 5 months on from launch, the same performance and AI issues persist. The devs released a roadmap recently that outlines content updates all the way til 2027. But the lack of content isn't why 95% of the playerbase dropped off so rapidly, its because in areas like Tiger Bay or the Resort, its borderline unplayable. In terms of performance, I run a 5950X and a 3090. Even on the lowest settings in 1440p, I can't get a consistent 60fps in Tiger Bay, and during ADS, I will sometimes drop sub 30fps.

I'd honestly be okay with this IF the visuals were evolutionary, however, they aren't. Thanks to UE5's ridiculous TSR implementation, which you are unable to turn off btw, it is a smeary and fuzzy mess and there is no way to fix it. Want to spot enemies or players from a distance? Forget about it, everything past 1000ft is unrecognizable.

What drove myself and my friends from this game after 90 hours of play is simple. The performance is dreadful, the TSR implementation sucks for this kind of game, and the AI are just plain ridiculous. You can only get headshot by a guy not even facing you so many times before giving up. Kid you not, I've literally seen muzzle flashes come out sideways from an AI's barrel to then kill me.

Bought this on a whim cause it looked intriguing. Fully expected to play it for an hour or two and never touch it again. However, it sucked me in. I can't remember the last time I stayed up til 4am playing a game. This is a good one! Definitely recommend.

I'm gonna leave a recommend here for this. This game has the potentially to be one of the best survival games in VR. Surprisingly everything is quite robust. Leveling system, crafting system, cooking system, fishing mechanics, skill trees, player customization, etc. It honestly reminds me quite a bit of when I use to play State of Decay years back.
However, the main thing that really needs some work is unfortunately the combat and zombies. Its quite a bit clunky and just not very satisfying, it can be challenging but only because of how clunky it is. If this game saw something like S&S zombies and combat, well shew, i might not ever take the headset off.

I thought I'd give this game another try now that VR has been introduced. I was disappointed to see that performance and graphics remain the same as launch, and are exacerbated in VR. I'm running a Quest 3 and a PC with a 3090 and anyone whos run a Q3 knows that the headsets native resolution is enough to be crystal clear. EA WRC VR is anything but. At "native resolution" the entire picture shimmers and the image is aliased as heck, the trees are actually blinding to look at. Its my suspicion that the game doesn't actually render at the resolution its suppose to for performance reasons. The only way I can get a clean image is bump both my headset's display res to 1.5x and supersample through the tray app and even then, the environments still look trash, just clear trash. And don't even think about running upscaling or the game's AA, unless you want the blurriest image and ghosting EVERYWHERE. Its actually undriveable. I'm not even gonna go into how turning on your headlights drop your FPS by about 30%.

Sad to say that I am just completely disappointed by this game again. Its a big bummer because the game actually DRIVES pretty good and I think it could be a lot of fun, but in VR, the performance and graphics issues just keep you from enjoying the experience. I actually didn't think a game could run worse in VR than DR2.0 but here we are...

As of writing this, most of the performance issues have been ironed out and the game is amazing. Awesome story, satisfying combat with enough challenge to keep you engaged, much bigger worlds than Fallen Order and lots of customization. First game in a long time that I've actually put more time into exploring the worlds instead of the story. Keeps me coming back for more. Definitely would recommend.

Overall, this is super dope. Its that classic shooter in VR. I wish you could run faster but thats about my only gripe. For 20$ and from a single dev, this is solid fun.

Its basically WRC 8, 9, and 10's content all wrapped into one game. There are some driving and sound improvements. I feel like weight distribution is even more important in this entry. The actual engine and differential sounds are much better this time around. The whole UI got a facelift, feels like a nice refresh.

Lots of stages, new Sweden stages are dank. New Hybrid Rally1 cars are pretty epic.

Other than that, its your standard WRC yearly entry. But I'd say its enough of a refresh from WRC10 that its a nice last hurrah from KT Racing. Sad to see them lose the WRC license but heres to the future.

This is ALMOST a hidden gem. ALMOST... I was honestly a bit skeptical buying this game as I am with most VR titles, tbh. But I will say, after almost a 2 hour play session in Survival on Nowhere, this game has a ton of potential.

Most of the guns feel pretty good, especially the AK and handguns. Reload mechanics, fire mode switching, and weapon customization is pretty decent. I'd say better than Bonelab in some regards but not as good as Pavlov/Onward.

The melee combat is... Okay but ultimately feels like I have no connection when I try to slice a zombie and the hot boxes themselves are very wonky. Zombies hold their hands in front of their heads alot and weapons will register as hitting their hands even though you're clearly going for their face. Overall, I tended to stick with weapons and used melee only as a last resort.

The interiors of buildings feel pretty full with you being able to interact with a lot of different cupboards and whatnot for looting. The variety of loot though feels relatively scarce and the eating and drinking mechanic seems very much like an after thought. There, but not very apparent.

There are missions for you to take part in Survival but so far, seem to be mostly fetch quests. Which is fine but it would be nice to see more variety or even the ability to turn them off.

Controls were a bit funky upon first loading the game, I will admit. However, after sitting in the menus for a good 10 minutes setting up my grab and turning and crouching and body preferences, I got it working quite smoothly and it felt pretty good.

The graphically fidelity is surprisingly good. Textures are sharp. Lots of little knick knacks laying around to try and spice up the landscape. However, the level design itself is pretty lack luster. Streets often look exactly the same with very little unique landmarks or interesting locations. This could also be in part due to the quite overbearing fog. I would love a longer draw distance other than the what seems like 100ft in the game.

The zombies are... Decent. Better than Pavlov zombies by a wide margin but not nearly on the scale of Saints and Sinners.
They do aggro you very easily, even when you're trying to sneak and it's nighttime and the animations themselves seem to be pretty repetitive. However, I wouldn't say they're bad zombies. Quite okay for the game but still need some work. I'd say they're on par with DayZ Standalone zombies.

Overall, this game has a TON of potential and with some tweaks could easily be the DayZ of the VR world. What I think it needs to really elevate it though is better world design, we need bigger worlds with more diverse sections of the map. More emphasis on the survival aspects like food and water. More realistic medical solutions like bandage crafting. Lessening the fog and optimizing more for smoother more immersive gameplay.
An actual backpack. Something like Into The Radius' backpack solution is still the best survival backpack I've ever seen in a game. More uniqueness to the zombies. Zombies in clumps crowding restaurants or buses, etc. Rather than just randomly spread across the streets. A proper day/night cycle, (I read somewhere that it has one but I didn't see it in my 2 hour survival session so I dunno), if there isn't one already.

I think that about covers my thoughts on the game. Like I said, overall. Pretty solid once I set up the controls and body to my liking. It has a ton of potential and could become something even greater with some more work and TLC. It is impressive with 2 developers though. Nice job so far y'all! 👌
