Oh yeah man 2020 was...something else...but looks like Corona vaccines are going out now at least so that's a plus! Hope you are doing good man!
DezertPunK 11 Jan, 2021 @ 7:44am
Hey Menace, I unfortunately lost my pc to a pawn shop that closed down. I just installed the steam app so I could link an account to my switch so I just noticed your comment. I hope things are going good for you in these crazy times.
DaRealMenace97 11 Jun, 2020 @ 1:17pm
Hey man how you been, it's been few years since we last chatted! You still play steam?
Celerity, Executor of Impunity 20 May, 2016 @ 11:57am
Grind is where you're doing repetitive, mindless things. Which is... most of the "game", given you've seen 90% of the unique content in 2 hours but it's 50+ hours of grind. Merely gaining levels is not necessarily grind if new things are happening. Skills, items, enemies, etc.

The last 2 comments are especially funny given the massive shilling of having nearly every video game video maker promote them on both Early Access release and normal release is the only reason they've gotten any attention at all, and people enabling their ♥♥♥♥ is why they didn't "work on their game" and the core game state is the same as it was on Feburary 3, 2015 despite various reskins being added for classes and areas. Nothing changes your approach, so does it matter the trash mobs you kill before they move look like dogs instead of skeletons?
DezertPunK 20 May, 2016 @ 11:12am
I refunded a couple games over the last year & the last one I got a msg saying something like *Steam refund is not a way to test games & you may not receive a refund next time blah blah* out was only 3 refund in 6 months but I guess that could be seen as excessive if I went any farther. Anyways I'm careful about what I buy now:happypirate:
DaRealMenace97 20 May, 2016 @ 11:03am
i say just try it Dezert and you can always refund it thx to the steam refund system now.

His profile glitched out then. Last I looked it said no hours. Now it says 1.5 in last 2 weeks/77 in total. He's still wrong though. There's no strategy or difficulty, only damage spam and grind.
DezertPunK 20 May, 2016 @ 10:44am
@Celerity Fomodo has ♥♥♥♥ ton of hrs in Darkest Dungeon! Every day for a while that's all he would be doing
Celerity, Executor of Impunity 20 May, 2016 @ 10:43am
Turns out the larger collusion scheme is actually pretty well known and I had a few hundred thousand allies I wasn't aware existed before. Here's a good fairly neutral start point: http://www.breitbart.com/big-journalism/2015/09/15/gamergate-a-year-in-review/ Now try Googling what is #GamerGate, look at who is doing the completely different/false/negative takes, then start examining them (spoiler: they're the corrupt journalists on sides with them)
Celerity, Executor of Impunity 20 May, 2016 @ 10:43am
The "good reason" is that the devs are incompetent, can't draw eyes, so they went for a "unique" art style. That's about it. The animations alone are responsible for about 5-10 hours of grind. That 3-5 second delay on every unit action accumulates. I'm not sure what the best part is: That these hipsters are so clueless they think a walking simulator is actually "difficult", that they've been supported by all the usual pro hipster walking simulator narrative promoters, or that I found out about these higher level connections by accident. I spent a full year learning of, then exposing their own action.
DaRealMenace97 20 May, 2016 @ 10:38am
Dezert its got great art and animations are good, no real story jsut level up characters, get the best items you can, and get to the final dungeon to beat a final boss i guess. I havent gotten that far yet so i cant say.
DaRealMenace97 20 May, 2016 @ 10:36am
Also Celerity idk what your looking at but i have 76 hours in the game Dezert can look as well and tell you that!
DaRealMenace97 20 May, 2016 @ 10:35am
Celerity i see what you mean now about what the devs have been doing. As far as Darkest Dungeon goes no its not hard, but you have some strategy involved, gotta mek a good team, give the mgood trinkets, and attacks that work wel ltogether. its pretty grindy but as long as your guys dont die they level up decently fast. I have not done the darkest dungeon level yet im still trying to figure out good teams in the champion ones first but i will say the bosses are pretty hard if you dont have a decent counter team to them.
DezertPunK 20 May, 2016 @ 10:21am
@Fomodo - spam away, it's Steams servers:fingers:
DezertPunK 20 May, 2016 @ 10:20am
I've seen devs do this kinda thing but not too the extent Celerity is saying. It looks like a freakn mobile game so the animations & art better tie in really well to the game for me to get passed it. Dont get me wrong I could care less about graphics when it's a good/great game but if you're going to throw mobile style@me for reg price there better be a good reason:happypirate:
Celerity, Executor of Impunity 20 May, 2016 @ 10:10am
I checked your profile dude. It shows the game on your account, no hours. Like what happens when you buy a game and don't even install it yet.

1: It's not "hard". It's grindy, horribly balanced and mobile like.
2: Most of the content, including bosses and the end game is mostly copy pastes.
3: 99% of the loot isn't even worth keeping so you can sell it.

As for other games. I haven't seen any other devs this brazen that haven't been called on it. The usual subject of their collusion is hipster trash, walking simulators, and supporting the members of their own clique. All of which fits them, and all of which describes devs, media, and promotional outlets. For example: www.oneangrygamer.net/2016/05/critical-distance-has-more-than-a-dozen-conflicts-of-interest-with-silverstring-media/2225/ General promotional corruption here. Now Ctrl+F "Darkest Dungeon". Spoilers: There's hits.
DaRealMenace97 20 May, 2016 @ 9:52am
Also sry dezert kinda spamming on your profile like this i jsut saw his comment and didnt know what to think about it.
DaRealMenace97 20 May, 2016 @ 9:50am
What other games do you know did this? All small titles?
DaRealMenace97 20 May, 2016 @ 9:50am
what do you mean i played over 70 hours on it! I mean its a "side scroller" and made to be hard, its got some repetitiveness but has some new enemies, bosses, trinkets and such. Idk what these new town events are yet and how much they do but the basic ocncepts of the game are pretty good. Im not for developers hiding stuff like you explained before either because its basically funding them to continue to do things like that. Its not a big title game that everyone has been waiting for but it has its goods and bads.
Celerity, Executor of Impunity 20 May, 2016 @ 9:22am
PS: You have the game and have never turned it on. How can you honestly make any claims about it?
Celerity, Executor of Impunity 20 May, 2016 @ 9:21am
No, it's not. Even ignoring the corruption of the devs, community, and media, the "game" is just you walking right, spamming damage, and killing things before they move. Basically, walking simulator. Or you could use the useless classes and skills (most of them), at which point you might buy the meme about it being hard (because you keep dying and regrinding, much like a mobile game without a real money shop).

Anyone looking for a "good game" or "not mobile like game" or anything like that will come out empty, case in point: me.
DaRealMenace97 20 May, 2016 @ 7:56am
i dont really know what to think honestly
DaRealMenace97 20 May, 2016 @ 7:55am
Wow simply stupid, darkest dungeon is a great game regardless! Just because they banned people and otherwise tried to hide the negative reviews its still a great game. If they add more thats great, if not don't worry about it! Its not a failure of a game, its got a good concept and challenge to it. Idk about other games this happened with but Darkest Dungeon is a good one. I see your anger twoard the fact they might have done that but the whole thing is still ridicilous.
Celerity, Executor of Impunity 20 May, 2016 @ 1:32am
You're not seeing much of it yet, mostly because they think they can manipulate a sale from you. The instant you dissaude them of that notion you'll see their true colors, namely defending this: http://blogjob.com/oneangrygamer/2016/04/darkest-dungeon-reviews-censorship-and-criticism And that's only part of what the devs/community are responsible for. They're actually very well connected in a corruption ring. They've probably spent more money and effort defending their own failures than learning from them would have taken.

As someone who originally wanted a "Hardcore Roguelike about the stresses of adventuring and making difficult decisions with imperfect information" it can only be described as the biggest gaming related disappointment ever... And if it were merely a shallow game I wouldn't care much, but all the censorship and corruption that's went behind defending its failure is another story entirely.
DezertPunK 20 May, 2016 @ 1:17am
@Celerity - some of the responses were disproportionate but that's typical of Steam in my experience.
Celerity, Executor of Impunity 19 May, 2016 @ 11:41pm
"Looks like a mobile port."

It's actually never been on mobile but it's designed like mobile trash, it's not just the Newgrounds style visuals. You're more insightful than you know. And the shallow, one dimensional mechanics are only the tip of a massive corruption iceberg. An iceberg that starts with censoring critical users, which is why I'm putting this on your profile and not the thread you asked the question in. Another major factor is heavy shilling, most of the people arguing in favor of this walking simulator have a well defined history of it which you can see for yourself with the View Posts button.

If you want more examples simply express mild doubt or suspicion about the intregrity of the devs, watch the responses instantly become hostile.

Our father, who art in random. Entropic be thy name
thy random come
thy generation be done
in ARPG as it is in crypto
give us this day, our daily grinds
and forgive those, who try to scam against us
and lead us not into low entropy
but deliver us to loot
for thine is the random, the grind, and the rare spawns, forever

DaRealMenace97 1 Jan, 2016 @ 11:50am
lol yea i tried public mp but im sick of them!
DezertPunK 1 Jan, 2016 @ 10:42am
I'm all about L4D2 but I'm sick of public groups and the anoyances that come along w/ it. It would be alot more fun w/ a friend
DaRealMenace97 1 Jan, 2016 @ 10:02am
We could try left 4 dead 2 sometime. Im missing a lot of achievements in that and some might require a friend.
DaRealMenace97 4 Dec, 2015 @ 3:20pm
oh yea lol dam your gonna destroy lag with that card. i might sli with my 970 eventually but right now i can play pretty much anything at ultra settings and keep close to 60 fps.
DezertPunK 3 Dec, 2015 @ 7:04pm
I'm saving up for the 980ti, it's got 6gigs of vram and crunches games like nothin
DezertPunK 3 Dec, 2015 @ 7:03pm
I really want to get Fallout 4!!! I'm also really excited about Vermintide but from what I've seen on videos of gameplay I'll probably need to update my vid card 1st
DezertPunK 3 Dec, 2015 @ 7:02pm
I can usualy max most new games long as I have sli on and AA turned way down or off
DaRealMenace97 3 Dec, 2015 @ 6:58pm
lol oh dang ok i should be good then! :yawp: The wild hunt is really good and you should be able to run it on decent settings with two 680's i think. I will get them eventually maybe for the christmas sale coming up!
DezertPunK 3 Dec, 2015 @ 5:55pm
Trust me, if you play pt2 before pt1 you won't enjoy it half as much. if fact I didn't even like AoK the 1st time I played it on my 360 years ago but now that I've finished The Witcher pt1 AoK is now one of my favorite games of all time...I have yet to start The Wild Hunt though:rufusscared:
DezertPunK 3 Dec, 2015 @ 5:52pm
I'm running it on my gtx680 2gig & long as I turn off sli it runs like a champ. even w/ both cards running at once it just shows dots of light through walls but still fine
DaRealMenace97 3 Dec, 2015 @ 5:34pm
the only thing is since its an older game it probably has no optimization done to it so might lag at times. I have a gtx 970 4gb so idk if it would be able to run or not very good
DezertPunK 3 Dec, 2015 @ 5:06pm
the first 2 games are different than the 3rd but if you want to play the others make sure to play part1 then 2. You can import your games plus it makes part 2 so much more fun!
DaRealMenace97 3 Dec, 2015 @ 3:09pm
i only played witcher 3 which was amazing, but im sure the other two are great as well!
DezertPunK 2 Dec, 2015 @ 9:29pm
Totaly forgot how amazing The Witcher 2 is!
DaRealMenace97 25 May, 2015 @ 7:48am
lol dam lucky i want a gaming rig dammit!!!
DezertPunK 24 May, 2015 @ 2:26am
1/3 done w/ Witcher 1 then pt2 then finally on to The Witcher 3!
