Just shapes and beats is a game about music and games from many years ago and having them used in a fun bullet hell game where you doge the colour red as a blue cube.(or other shapes if multiplayer) really good game with good music and gameplay.

i dislike how cluttered the dragons are with the entire screen full of red and attacks flying everywhere making it hard to see which direction the lasers are supposed to spin though this is something i will obiously learn in time. but other then that i have enjoyed every other area of the game, every class feels fun and you unlock more as you play. definitly recomend trying it out if you enjoy roguelikes and boss rushes.

fun spell fighter game with deckbuilding, low cost, skill is not rquired but it is high, fun spells, active discord, they make pallet swaps for characters based on community suggestions and reference many cool games / shows. overall you may aswell spend the really low price of the game and try it out for 1h and see if you would enjoy it with your friends using just the base decks and try out all the characters given to you, and if you dont enjoy any of the characters or spells within that time you can easily refund it, though i would reccomend trying it with a friend or using the training room ai to try the characters within that time due to queues being long for unranked and ranked as well as there sometimes not being public lobys open although i do usualy see at least 1 at most times of the day.

while i had fun in my hours of gameplay, and they recently seem to have sprung back to life, untill they fully finish the game i would not recommend getting it just because they returned doesnt mean they will finish everything, when everything is fixed i will change my review.
however i will say the game may of been janky, it may of had a lot of unnecessary things, it may of had a lot of unfinished things, but i can say i did enjoy it when it first released even if it was only due to me playing with someone else making the experiences funnier but it gave me 40 hours of fun, and then 26 hours of being bored with the other planets. either way its fun but i wont recommend it to anyone yet -note i haven't played the new update but from the patch notes i do like the things they are doing- who knows its made the game better though since the new reviews are still mixed. only time will tell. devs if you keep fixing and don't leave it as an abandoned half finished game again, then i shall change my review, as i did enjoy the experience with my friend.
a note for context- i played back in 2017-2018 then stopped playing(i stopped after finishing everything on the lava planet and tested things in creative), only played a tiny bit during 2021 and have yet to try it again since.

no one plays this game, exremely repetetive and boring, normal ark is better, go play palworld, dlc after dlc boring.

quite a lot of fun, like the story, multiplayer, and the endless challenege mode.

i agree with the new reviews, if they wanted to abandon it they could at least keep the old seasons and bp that we were given and keep them cyled through for new players if they dont want to make any more seasonal content for the game.

as for the game itself its not that bad other then the almost unless housing system or the stupidly high price for any cosmetic in the game, the monsters(tems) themselves are fun to play with. even a early game mon i used for the entire game since i liked it so much, lots of verietys of teams you can make, but i would NEVER recommend bying this game full price, get it for less then $10 worth in your currency ,this game thinks it deserves a triple a price tag of a new release pokemon game while having absuredly high batle pass and item shop costs for cosmetics its absured how money hugry they seem to be.

other then my dislike for this games monetization and price i believe it is a good standalone game to play if you enjoy pokemon but due to my personal preferences i would not recommend buying it at full price but most still might be willing to pay full price for it so i say look up a youtube video of either a torunament or first few playthrough episodes to get the gist of if you would enjoy playing the game on your own.

however one thing i can say for certain is at least the devs have had fun designing the game, art, music and tems.

Mario party but you can stun someone into oblivion turn 1.

enjoyable but normal matches last way too long (mostly fixed but still takes ages sometimes without the intense battle event mode) usualy 1h ( now usualy lasts less time but its still a game that u HAVE to have a decent amount of free time to even do 1 match but at least the time now is far more reasonable to play )

the art is good, the music and sound effects could use some work but thats subjective( they have been adding more music and character voices and sound effects ), more maps and features will be added in the future so if you like party games and have a hour to spare then i would recommend you try this game out.

i dont know what all these orange juice 100% fan bots are nuking this game just because there is a new game thats free and similar to their game that could possibly take players and revenue away form their game orange juice is a game that has had years of development and you have to pay for it. this game came out 1 day ago and is for free aside from the gacha which only really affects cosmetics as getting characters is easy enough.

future addidions that would be neat: a fast forward animation button or speed mode(fast mode and intense battle were added , intense battle is a event mode), ability and card history as well as being able to click on a person to then click on thier debuff / buff to see what it does because currently you cant hover over the debuff / buff when you click on a person you can only see the icon.the abiltiy to add randoms to some sort of friends list be it to your steam friends list or a ingame one where you u can type to them(friends list was added). close a lobby if they have been afk in the lobby for a certain amount time the lobby gets closed if at least one time all 3 other players have readyd up and the timer still stays if the others left as i have seen so many lobbys with bot account hosts staying afk with multiple people for multiple minutes staying readyd and the host never starts or at least make it so if you leave a quick match lobby you are never brought to the same lobby unless you manually join it through the room list(this was fixed with multiple additions as well as a increase in player count due to constant new characters and events). the speed stat - and + i dont think there is a way to see it while you can see your strength and defense stat.(quite a few abilitys affect speed / movement dice)

All the new characters and maps have been fun to play on and they are constantly improving the game and fixing bugs, if you have read this far i really would suggest trying out the game if you have a spare hour as most rounds go by faster now, the game has a veriety of characters and a decent amount of maps, all the events so far have also been fun, they made it easier for lower end pcs to play the game, and the game has only been out a short amount of time, even if you dont like fighting players the game now has a mode where you have to team up with players against ai,

the new soul co op map is so much fun, no issues with the original gawu co op map but wow i really have been enjoying this one a lot, might also be helped by how the boss takes dmg from its minions dying so it doesnt suck killing them. i also love how long we have to get the sub 15 insane icon due to it being a 2 part event.


overall:
recommending giving it a try as you can quickly see if you will enjoy it. doesn't take that much storage, the game is free, the gacha really doesnt affect anything in the game due to how common you get new characters from it and how easy it is to get more pulls, fun characters, good art, fun maps, try with your friends or join someone on the discord server the game will get funnier, the game is constantly improving, consistent new maps and characters (and game modes/events), devs care about the game and are having fun making it, their discord has nice people.

wallpaper engine has incredible well animated and even static wallpapers. personaly i think it is well worth the price for the INSANELY talented people who make these wallpapers.

the music is insanely good but i cant recommend buying it due to it missing the b sides / c sides and farewell dlc tracks. but if you want to support the creators of celste you can get the soundtrack or even their collectors editions and such.
