If you are thinking of starting out in this game, avoid it. It's "free to play" for a reason.

The devs have intentionally made the grind to top tier worse and worse so now it is impossibly long and difficult...all to milk players of their money when they give in and pay for premium subscriptions and vehicles so they can play with their friends.
Even with these bought advantages (yes many store bought vehicles are horribly overpowered) the grind is still horrendous, meaning sometimes hundreds of matches just to unlock the next vehicle.

Sadly because of the lack of rewards and slow progression, the player-base has become more and more toxic, and I don't blame them either. Things like spawnkilling, abusing overpowered tanks and cheating are incredibly rampant in the game, but Gaijin have made it this way and aren't doing anything about it. They want it this way to get YOUR money!

It's especially sad because the combat mechanics, graphics and sounds in this game really are amazing, but Gaijin continues to ruin the wonderful experience Warthunder could be with their insatiable greed.

The latest update was just the straw that broke the camels back for the community, but this has really been going on for years. I only hope that this time Gaijin actually listens to their fans, but I doubt it..

I was initially going to complain about this being monetized, but damn those models are beautiful and definitely higher quality than anything you can get for free on the workshop. Perfect implementation with people still having the ability to see them in other peoples worlds but just not interact, I think that was the best way to go about it.

I loved playing the game and enjoyed the concept, but massive loading times, unstable preformance and crashing kinda
ruined it for me. You would think that a game that was delayed TWICE to be finished properly and polished wouldn't have these issues, but trust me, it does, no matter how powerful your pc is.

You can tell that the game is still a port as well especially when you can only navigate the starmap with a f@#kng controller.
