While the initial release of Realms of Chaos was a bit shaky, it tried a different style that had good concepts with survival battles, the constant looming threat of chaos, and actively engaging new faction mechanics. However, Warhammer has thrived on its sandbox mentality, which did make the initial release until Immortal Empires a bit lacking and left for more to be desired as you could never truly do your own thing. Nevertheless, the campaign provided a unique experience that gave a relatively quick playthrough with a clear objective that meant games were quicker and had more purpose.

Once Immortal Empires released, then like the floodgates, it meant we could finally play Warhammer the way we wanted to: anyway we wanted. The Warhammer franchise is arguably the best RTS in the past decade with its mix of the core gameplay of Total War and the fantasy nature of Warhammer. The diverse races, factions, units, and gameplay makes the world’s replay value its most enticing feature, allowing a player to do as they wish. While there are bugs, the culmination of the past few years of Warhammer has birthed a truly massive world full of content and enjoyability. In addition, the continued focused development on multiplayer through simultaneous turns and the massive performance improvements (as compared to the release of Mortal Empires) makes the games more accessible to playing with friends, which has been one of the best parts of playing. As with past Warhammer games, it will only get better as the developers tackle updates and DLCs that will continue to make the game more enjoyable. Though the real question now is, chaos dwarves when?

One of, if not, the best Total War game to date with its continual development thanks to DLCs and FLCs that continue to build upon an already amazing game.

Its filled with the best lore of the Warhammer Fantasy world, intriguing mechanics, monsters, men and the greatest of the vampires, Boring Von Carstein.

A game filled with possibilities from painting the world under the Axis rule, forgoing your democratic ways and take up the values of communism and forge a new world as the Communist States of America or even just have a laugh as countries fall to the Emu Empire.

As much as the game is enjoyable in vanilla, the mods bring so much more to enjoy thanks to its expansive community. Having to deal with a zombie outbreak in the Middle-East (only to be beaten in less than a couple of years), trying to survive the post-apocalyptic world of Fallout as the NCR and facing off against Caesar's Legion to facing the troubles of World War 1.

With friends this game is honestly the best, as you work together to take over the other countries one by one; as France, Germany and Poland take on the full force of Soviet Russia. Or secretly plan to overthrow each other…

Truly brilliant game, quests that go on to tell fantastic stories, very indepth rpg mechanics, massive beasts which to defeat and an overwhelmingly massive open-world environment but only clocked 30hrs and still watching Geralt's beard grow :D 10/10 - Best game of 2015 (Still waiting for Roach to find a way around the fence XD)
