I don't typically review games but wanted to support this one, I ended up playing this game after seeing a bit of positive discussion around the game online after knowing nothing about it. It really blew me away and is easily the best metroidvania I've played in a long time.

I found the story way more engaging than pretty much any other metroidvania I can think of, although I could see people put off by how tragic it is as well as some of the horror elements of the game.

The combat was fantastic, it is definitely reminds me of sekiro with heavy amounts of parrying required. My main warning is, as other have said this game is really hard (at least on standard mode, not sure about story mode), although I'd also say anytime I died it felt like I could've played better and nothing felt unfair. For reference, the final boss took me about 3-4 hours to beat and many of the other major bosses took numerous attempts to beat. There also isn't much agency to "level" up your character compared to traditionally stat boosting, you have to just keep trying or change the difficulty.

The music and art were also fantastic.
