Halo: The Master Chief Collection

This game was fun for about the first 100 hour or so, but once you're used to the same tiny amount of maps and handful of guns it gets so repetitive. The gameplay used to be its saving grace due to the myriad of other issues, but even it doesn't hold up after a certain length of time.

The Pros

-Great campaign. The story isn't as grand as Halo 3 and doesn't have the greatest character writing like Halo 2, but it's a miles better story than Halo 5 and took the best parts of the Halo 4 story (the personal, humanized parts) without making Chief seem too much like a ♥♥♥♥♥. Definitely the best 343 written story to date.
-Beautiful graphics
-The art style is a return to form and is much better than Halo 4 and 5
-Great soundtrack. The music in this game isn't as great or nostalgic as the original Trilogy, but it's still very, very good and I will definitely look back on it fondly.

The Cons

-Terrible store pricing, a set of armor costs $20, lots of items are way overpriced and everything can only be bought in bundles
-Removed the ability to customize colors in favor of a shader-like system a la Destiny (with even scummier pricing)
-Cheaters everywhere
-Big team battle has been broken for over a month
-No leveling system for progress like Reach, 4, 5, and MCC
-No commendation system
-Playlist variety is awful compared to MCC
-Battle Pass was cut by 20 levels and they're selling previously cut content in the store
-Challenges are ridiculous and don't register half the time
-Challenges are the only way to progress in the Battle Pass
-No co-op campaign
-No forge
-Theater is a broken buggy mess
-Big desync problem with the multiplayer
-Cannot mute teammates, so if someone is hard-miking and blasting music you have no way to stop them
-No report feature
-Awful map variety
-Only 7 arena maps and they get boring quick
-Only 3 BTB maps for some insane reason
-The vehicle spawn system in BTB is atrocious. High end vehicles only spawn towards the very end of the match and it's a complete crapshoot on which team will get what. One team might get a Scorpion and the other team will get a Banshee (which I should add is the weakest Banshee in the entire series. It's like paper in terms of defence)
-The weapon sandbox was gutted and most of the weapons are new. There are a couple good ones like the Commando, Sidekick, and Skewer, but there are quite a few weapons that are either really hard to use or completely garbage and unusable (looking at you, Ravager)
-Most vehicles feel weightless and are tricky to maneuver. The Warthog in particular flips itself constantly
-No player collision
-The campaign has ~40 "armor lockers" hidden around the map that you can open to get a piece of gear for your multiplayer Spartan, but despite being called ARMOR lockers there is not one piece of armor in any of them. It's all just skins for weapons and vehicles, armor shaders, emblems, and weapon charms.
-Undoubtedly many more that I'm forgetting/haven't thought of

The campaign is great. I'm not sure if it's worth $60 considering that used to mean a full package (multiplayer, theater, forge, co-op, tons of unlockable armor, etc,), but I would highly recommend it at $40. The multiplayer, however, is a complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and I would not recommend it to anyone in its current state.
