team stack stimulator

join a 70+ man server and have one team completely populated by the clan that runs the server.

if you are the other team, you are going to have to endure being part of an uncoordinated mess so your gameplay amounts to being nothing more than moving targets for the server owners.

try and join the other team and you will get kicked from the server. so just rejoin the server? nope, the servers are so big that they are either empty or full with a que.

and this is an "official" squad endorsed server. this is how they want their game to be played

it doesnt even have to be a whole team

i was on a server where one squad were dominating, so i decided to stack that squad so i could actually have a chance of winning a round. the problem is that the squad leader with no admin rights can boot you from their squad.

okay so i just join one of the other squads? NOPE. squads are limited to 9 players. once squads are formed they get populated IMMEDIATELY. so if you havent joined one of the 3 main squads on your team at the beginning of the game, then you basically have to run around by yourself or with the other uncoordinated people that didnt manage to get to join the main squads. that wouldnt be a problem except THE WHOLE GAME REVOLVES AROUND BEING IN A SQUAD. you cant so much as enter a vehicle without permission from your squad leader. okay so you create your own squad, oh wait a squad leader cant do anything unless they have a team mate. good job trying to get someone to join your squad if you werent one of the first 3 to form.

so basically if a person doesnt want you on their squad because they want to stack with their team mates, not only can they kick you from their squad, but in doing so they will absolutely guarantee you have an unplayable / unenjoyable round.

oh so u managed to join one of the 3 main squads, well if you werent quick enough to select one of the support roles, prepare to play a game with no scope or any meaningful equipment to help your team. youl just be wandering around doing nothing of relevance the entire game. you cant see anyone because you have no optics, but youl always be getting shot by people that do.

well you can always be a medic, because no one wants to be a medic, because you dont get to do anything apart from try not to get shot (medics dont have any optics so they couldnt do anything if they wanted to anyway). and when u finally do get to do something it doesnt matter because you squad will be wiping anyway. even if you dont wipe, once your squad is compromised then quite often a squad leader will redeploy somewhere else anyway so healing is redundant. even if reviving them would help. the reason they died was because they were in a compromised position. that position wont be uncompromised until about 20minutes later when the objective the you and the enemy were fighting over is no longer valid

ive had some fun playing in squads that have been doing nothing more than hold a point whilst other squads went on and pushed.

it can feel like actually being stationed at an outpost sometimes

or have games where proper battle lines develop. where you end up just shooting into the popped smoke in no mans land or peppering a window anytime you see movement near it.

but those moments are few and far between

the rest of the time you will have two flavours of combat

you will either be on the unstacked team.

you will respawn, die, then respawn somewhere else, die, rinse repeat being moved around the map arbitrarily with no idea what is going on

or, youl be on the stacked team.

and unless you are in the squad that is on point, you will always get this feeling that you turned up too late for every fight and are just running around in the wake of the people who are actually taking the objectives so there is nothing for you to do.

and thats where this type of game breaks

"youl only do well if you communicate"

"the game is designed in such a way that you have to use teamwork"

except its the same as any other fps game where there will be people who are exceptionally good, who can wipe entire squads by themselves without communicating or making use of the squad mechanics, and they will be the ones taking objectives and spearheading the offensives. the ones who are actually making the difference between winning and losing arent even the ones that are playing the game the way its meant to be played. and so for a 70man server, only maybe two people will actually be having any fun and / or meaningful impact.

you can be on the other team to these people and lose, or you can stack their team and win but feel like you have achieved nothing.

as a game that advertises its self as somewhere between battlefield and arma. i would just pick one or the other.

if you want simulation and immersion go for arma. if you want something more arcadey, go for CSGO, battlefield, or even something like wildlands
