I dunno what it is about Terry Cavanagh. Maybe it's the vastly different genres his games span. Maybe it's the pick-up-and-play nature of his games. Or maybe it's his hard-on for the number 6 (VVVVVV, Super Hexagon). Whatever it is, this man can only turn out pure gold.

I adore this game, in spite of its many flaws. Pre-patch Sneezy was too difficult, visual bugs are still abound and I recently encountered a glitch where when a Chocolate Cookie+ was Weakened, it turned back into its regular form. If you absolutely need polish from your games, at least wait until a few more updates are pushed through the pipelines.

But I will still recommend it. All of the playable characters are fun to varying degrees, the art is adorably presented and the soundtrack is presented by the venerable Chipzel, who really ties the whole thing together (Seriously, give "Swing Me Another Six" a listen and tell me this soundtrack isn't great). If you're into hour-long runs of games that don't take themselves too seriously, you'll adore this one. And hey, this is before the mod support really begins too - it's only going to get better.

Tight platforming, a charming world and a gritty, yet not overbearing story. The only gripes I have with this game are that some classes are objectively not worth the money spent to unlock them, like the dragon class, and that New Game +2 scales in a way that is way too brutal compared to NG+1. All that might sound negative, but for the sake of every other aspect of this game (replayability, story, controls, level design, soundtrack and, most importantly, fun) I can't think of a single negative thing to say about this masterpiece. If you see it for a decent price in the sales, you could do much worse than this little gem.

VVVVVV is a tight, physics-based platformer with some throwbacks to older PC consoles such as the ZX Spectrum and old IBM machines. The soundtrack by Magnus Pallson only serves to add to the trancelike oddysey through a world of neon space, where you are challenged to think quickly and laterally to progress. The only gripes that could be had are the handful of bugs that are more amusing than harmful, and the relatively light story, but these only serve to add to the game's charm. For a short, challenging and delightfully retro romp, you could do so, so much worse for the asking price here. Highly recommended.

You know, I don't think this even counts as a review bomb because, as the game is more a live service and moving away from a native and invested audience is quite the bold move to make, this is still a criticism of the game. I remember when Rocket League built bridges between Xbox One, Steam, PlayStation 4 and Switch. Those days are behind, and looks like a big enough wallet is good enough to forget all about that. What a shame.

A stellar example of a WRPG doing things right. A rich story with factions that you care about, diverse set of enemies, a ridiculously robust arsenal of weapons and a compelling story touching on themes of revenge, right and wrong and dealing with the catastrophe of the Great War. The game does crash more frequently than is acceptable, and a few skills (namely Speech) are better than others, but if you're looking for a new favourite game, then look no further.

10/10, would have war flashbacks and hold patriotic tendencies again.

I hope you like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, because with the amount of clicking you're doing, and the boner this much capitalism will give you, your wrists will be ♥♥♥♥♥♥.
