I can't overstate how much I loved Doom 2016. Doom Eternal picks up the pace of an already breakneck fast FPS. I love the gunplay, I love the movement and I love the gore. My only complaint is story based, the game doesn't seem to link very well with Doom 2016, and as far as I can tell doesn't even attempt to fill in the gaps. I kind of hate that, because the story of Doom 2016 was seamless and a joy to explore. The story of Eternal seems neat, but it seems to be taking place in an alternate reality to Doom 2016 instead of a continuation of it. Where does your space station come from? When did Earth get invaded and why does it look like earth from the Warhammer 40k universe. This threw me out of the game when I first tried it, and it took me months before I tried it again long enough to fall in love with the gameplay. I'd highly recommend the game... hopefully the major plot black holes get filled in during the DLCs.
