Not recommended for the simple fact that you can't turn off crossplay with the ultra aimbot console players. The aimbot is so overpowered, that I don't get how console players even enjoy playing. If you're anywhere in their view, it will immediately suck their aim onto you and recoil becomes non-existant.

Same old formula as all the other games. If you liked the previous ones you'll most likely enjoy this game. If you didn't enjoy any of the recent Far Cry games, this won't change your mind.

Personally I enjoy the formula. It's an easy game to play in short bursts or for a long time.

I found the game to be too boring, slow, and rewards camping.

Between all the monsters, sound traps (birds, ducks, glass, branches, etc), how far people can hear your gun shots, you basically have to crawl around everywhere. If you make a bunch of sound, people will creep up to your location and just wait to camp kill you.

The shooting mechanics are also boring. The guns all shoot at such a slow pace. There are guns that shoot slightly faster that you get as you rank your character up. So basically if you're new, you will be at an even greater disadvantage versus people that have played longer.

I also find adding new characters, items, etc to be too much work before each match. It's annoying having to select a med kit each time and use points to get it.

For someone with limited free time, the game is just too slow, boring, and takes too long to rank up and unlock guns to where you're even with experienced players. If you like hiding in grass, creeping around, and feel great killing a person not looking at you, then this is the game for you.

TLDR: Game is an even more boring version of PUBG with monsters. Playing slow and camping is rewarded and you will be at a disadvantage when you first start due to unlocks.

Decent game at first, then it just gets to the point where it's not fun any longer. The RNG doesn't seem so random, and you really get the short end of the stick a vast majority of the time. Whether you are getting critted constantly, getting a lopsided amount of negatives added to your character at the end of each run, or encountering an enemy that can just blow themselves up (and placing your entire team on death's door), the game is just too frustrating to enjoy for me personally. I don't mind when games are difficult, but when the difficulty is increased exponentially by the computer getting "lucky" way too often on what is supposed to be "random" rolls, it's takes the joy out of the game.

If you play games to have fun and not to get more stressed out than you already are from work/school, then I would recommend stearing clear of this game.

TLDR: If you're into logic/puzzles, math, and rogue-like elements, the games don't get more entertaining than this.

The Good:
-The necessity to use different strategies and builds depending on the levels. There's no single strategy that will beat the game for you.
-The difficulty is almost spot-on throughout the entire game. It's only easy in the beginning. By the end it's brutally hard, but you feel accomplished.
-Fun in small spurts or for long periods of time.
-There are a ton of upgrades that keep the game fresh.

The Bad:
-The more you lose on one level the harder it is to remain patient and play well (more of a personal flaw, but it applies greatly here).
-The randomness of the "boss", glyph drops, enemies, etc. can break/ruin a run for you. Takes some luck on harder levels.

Verdict: If you can deal with feeling dumb as you try to figure out the best strategies and are patient enough to not blow a fuse as you repeat levels multiple times, the game is great. The upgrades keep the game and strategies fresh and you feel great accomplishment as you make your way through the harder levels. For the price they are asking, you get great value for your buck. I'd give it a solid 9/10.

Overall, the game is entertaining, especially up to the hard levels. It is a pretty fun game to just start up and play for a little bit and you can quit whenever. For me, however, the extreme levels take the challenge overboard into a realm of not being fun anymore.

+Lots of tracks and you can download even more
+Graphics are good
+Lots of different environments
+You can get lucky, but it requires a lot of skill

-The extreme levels are so hard you want to punch babies
-The trick system that you use for the trick levels....amazingly bad controls.
-UPlay and DLC Season Pass

Overall 6/10. Get it when it's on sale and it's pretty good value.

Summary:
I played this game solely for the single-player experience and if that is what you're going for, this game is great. I played the first two Max Paynes when they first came out and thought this game wouldn't be as great since it was by a different developer, but I was wrong!

Make sure to get all the painkillers you can because difficulty is pretty high actually. These bad guys are incredibly good at aiming. Sometimes you have to bait them into coming to you.

Graphics: I just finished the game on the 24 March 2015 and the graphics are still amazing. 10/10

Story: The story isn't extremely complex, but the way they present it is far superior than most shooting games. 8/10

Sound: Voice acting was particularly great and the rest of the sound effects fit in well. 10/10

Gameplay: Sometimes the game is hard enough that you need to bait the bad guys into coming to you. You will definitely die a decent amount. I loved the cover system, bullet time, and the gunplay for the most part. One negative I would like to say is the aiming with the laser sight guns is terrible. It's much easier to just use a normal gun. 8.5/10\

Overall: 9/10 for the single player.

If you're looking for a game that you can play quickly and still have a lot of fun, this game works well.

+TONS of interesting modes. Almost all of them are intense and fun.
+Play against real people or play against the bots, which I enjoy playing against as well.
+Good laughs on some of the ridiculous plays you can make and that happen to you.
+Dev is one guy and he seems to care a lot about the game.
+The throws just feel right and it you can get lucky, but it requires quite a bit of skill.
+Powerups help change things up and keep the game interesting.
+There's quite a few "levels" to play on.
+Graphics for me are lively and fit the game well.

On to the things that I believe could be improved:
-The jumps feel a bit to floaty for me. Too easy to get caught midair imo
-There's not that many sound tracks. You could mute and play your own music if you want though of course.
-I don't see an option to customize the robot at this point.

BONUS: The dev has plans to add a lot to the game. I don't count it as a plus because you don't know if it will happen, but you can see in his post that he wants to add steam workshop to fix the robot customization problem, a level editor, more powerups, etc.

As the game is at this very moment, I already would wholeheartedly recommend the game at full price. It's not a AAA release or really flashy, but it is a whole lot of fun, which is what I play games for. I would currently give this game a 8.5/10 and I will upgrade the score if even more of the features are added.

BUY THIS GAME!

I have played the single player and all the co-op modes and have had a great time in all them. The game is fun to me anyways, but the great part is a majority of the players I've played with were nice, patient, and used good teamwork to beat the missions. I have not tried the multiplayer portion because honestly I'll probably never play it. As far as graphics, they look really good on all ultra settings and I haven't had any crashes. The only negatives I see is sometimes the cover system is hard to get in and out of at random moments, you can get stuck to where you can't move after duel boosting, and I hate that it requires UPlay. Overall, a great experience so far, and looking forward to putting many more hours on the game.

+A ton of characters to choose from
+They constantly make new events to keep the game fresh
+There's a lot of players on all the time
+The community has been pleasant to interact with for me
+A ton of different costumes, although certain characters are lacking
+Game is being updated all the time

-Holy smokes my wallet. This game is extremely expensive to play if you want to have all the heroes and a lot of costumes.
-To get heroes or costumes and also to level your character, get omega points, eternity splinters, etc is annoyingly grindy to the point where you'll want to just buy them (just like mobile games).
-Some heroes are extremely similar in playstyle.
-Balance of characters is quite off. Some are much, much stronger than others.

Overall: I've definitely had fun with the game as I love action RPGs and super heroes. I would rate the game a 6/10 as of Aug. 13, 2015. If the game wasn't an insane rip off to buy characters, costumes, team ups, etc I would give it an 8/10. I had a good amount of expendable income before, so I've paid over $500. That's just to get characters, costumes, stash spots, and team ups. Even paying that much I still am missing characters, 70% of costumes, and over half the team-ups.
