I am approx 12 hours into my first play through.

I cannot understand any of the hate whatsoever on the internet about this game. I am a relatively new player of the Dragon Age series, I played all three other games each of which have their own merits, each of which have their own downfalls too, just like any game.

I love the attention to detail this game has. I love the game play style, the looks of the game and the mechanics of the game too. I feel like I am playing some mixture of Mass Effect 3 (Jumping, Rolling around, dodging and powers via tab) and Assassins Creed with the climbing/stealth/balancing and general exploration.

There is so many things to love about this game.

- I love the references to past games. Talking about characters from the past, having banter about them. Love it.

- I love how you are running around listening to banter when it gets disrupted by a fight or other NPCs. After the interruption your characters say "right where were we?!" and continues the conversation!

- I am yet to see any repetition whatsoever. Complaints about atleast one of the last games was how the same or very similar layed out locations were used for many different quests and scenarios, i've never seen that.

- The game still has plenty of variety, it's still fairly open world, you can choose where you are going and not just following a quest line. Choose what you are doing and when you want to do it.

- I love all the map icons, identifiers on who wants to talk to you, who URGENTLY wants to talk to you (times conversations!)

- I love how when you are leaving your "base" the game allows you to go straight to the question location. I love how it tells you if you are meeting up with one of the characters there, so you know to take others instead.

- I love how during all conversations the game gives you context of the conversation. It points out conversation choices you make and exactly how the companions feel about that. It remembers and points out those choices later on. It really feels like it matters, in the conversations and actions you take.

- I love how extensive the character creator is, you can customise almost anything you would want, there is also a wide variety of class and backgrounds, great to see that come back from DAO and the fact that also matters.

- I love the fact the game still has crafting/upgrades but it is so much more simplified. It works for those who wants to upgrade easily but not have to dig too deep into it, some of the systems in DAI sometimes felt like too much for some players.

- I love the fact that similar to ME2, it shows you how many companions you are expected to have. It shows you slots for each upcoming companion, shows you arent missing anything. I like that as someone who would worry about that otherwise and feel I need to look up guides and companions to check.

- I love the skills tree/constellations. It truly allows you to choose your path. Literally.

- I appreciate the beacons. I appreciate being able to fast travel throughout the maps and locations. This makes travelling easier on what would be quite confusing locations to traverse.

I have only one con so far with this game. You cannot set way points or map markers in custom locations. Please set this up <3

I will be editing this further the more I play.

Thanks for the amazing game Bioware, as someone whos been playing your game for only 3 years or so, just before ME:LE came out, I was glad to get to experience this game from release. Keep up the great work, team! I can only say I am sorry the internet is doing it's thing and hating on such an amazing game, just cos they can.

I wish people would use reviews to actually explain why they dislike a game. Anyone that does that should have their review automatically deleted. It's not useful for anyone other than to spread hate. Get out with that.
