Another fun 100 Hidden by Sons of Welder. This time, it's meeowwyaarrtacic pirate cat-themed.
With one image of 100 cats to find and an extra, smaller image of 30, this was yet another fun quicky to sit down for and do in between other stuff. I don't think I'll ever get bored of these, to be honest. At first glance, these images look simple, but when you pay a little more attention to detail, like how cats have different faces, you can tell work and thought went into it.
I also find this theme very fitting with the Chutulu fish series, which was a fun one, too, imo.
And as always, it's still and always will be that last 1-3 cats that somehow are nowhere to be found until you suddenly find them heh. Of course, the very demotivational yaay at the end is the cherry on top.
Already looking forward to the next one!

I know I'm not that far in yet, so this review will most likely be updated in the future. Still, I wanted to show my early support since it has blown me away so far. It has a beautiful colour palette, and the hand-drawn scenes are stunning.
It has some light platforming, quests, side quests, and collectables, which makes it fun. It's almost like being in an interactive anime.
One of my favourite things is the dairy and the character page, it might be silly to others, but for me, it adds to the depth of the characters, and the days of the dairy and drawings add to the story, and, to be honest, the story has me sucked in already. Who is she?!
When in doubt, try the demo and let it seduce you into getting the full game.
Alright, I'm going back in. See you all in x amount of hours, probably.

My fava screenshot so far, simply because you can pet the goodboi.

I've been following this project from fairly early on. After the public playtest and now the demo, I love the direction it is taking: to be a super chill and cosy, no-nonsense, just sit-back and relax game.
From brewing coffee (sometimes with cute late art in the form of a mini-game) to making your little coffee cafe look all cute and cosy with (re) arranging furniture, you'll be drowned in adorableness. Of course, there is still work to do, so don't take the demo as this is it, but more as a rough, it will feel like this.
And to be honest, Beans is a really sweet developer, too. They listen to feedback and the community and do their best every day to make this the perfect chill game. Although I am merely a lurker, the discord server is very cosy and nice to be in and to follow for updates etc. Overall, I'm delighted to keep following, back the game when the fundraiser is up, and see this game grow. I'm looking forward to the full release when it's ready.

-well, sort of; the audio was corrupted, so I had to re-record it.

Is it safe to assume most of us, if not all, know the ''ain't nobody got time for that'' meme, right? Well, half of the time or more, that is precisely what crosses my mind while playing this game and trying to do everything in the six hours we have to save heaven in this witty, hilarious game. And I admit that for a while, I was a little lost but then it suddenly clicked for me on what to do with these cleverly made time-manipulation puzzles. And honestly, I think it’s genius.

I still have a long way to go and a lot to figure out, but I'm giving an early review on purpose because it helps developers and publishers a lot to have these. So far, it keeps me engaged and fascinated. Above all, I really had a few good laughs so far, even with the little details that caught my eye, like background graffiti, etc.
Alas, I have something else I need to do first, but I am returning to this one straightaway after that! Mainly because I am inquisitive if I can save heaven and if I really can’t ever pet any of the dogs—like ya’ll for real? D:
There is no way the developer(s?) would give us a heaven full of dogs and not let us pet even one… right?

Update: well, my first playthrough is done, and it was a blast. I loved every minute of the story and everything I was able to do.
But...
When I saved at a point of no return, it never crossed my mind that the game would save over that automatically. For some reason, I thought the continue save and save save were two different saves, but they weren't, and it really became a point of no return. I just wanted to know the whole story first and not "clean up" for god knows how long.
This meant I couldn't go back and finish up things and had to start from scratch, which left a salty taste. I dislike doing story-driven games back to back because then they become boring since you already know everything. The excitement isn't there anymore. But besides that, I still recommend the game.

This copy was gifted by a friend, so to be sure, I marked it as ‘received for free’ because, technically, I got it for free. If my opinion changes throughout my gameplay, this review will be edited to reflect that.

I love the demo so far, and I would say try it if you like story-rich RPGs.
Personally, I can't wait for the whole game to release. It's giving me undertale, earthbound, and in a way even some eastward vibes, but different. You can feel where the inspiration (might?). came from, but it's not alike; it's its own game and uniquely mysterious story, and it has me hooked and reeled in.
It's a story about a little sister who goes missing, and then things become... strange. Are we dreaming? Are we in a different reality? Will we find our sister back? Hopefully, we can unravel that mystery in the full-game release!

I really enjoyed the demo. However, I've decided to wait for the full game before continuing to play. It's going to be tough to wait because I really want to dive back in. Patience isn't my strong suit! So, it’s a battle in my head. Especially since the second bar had a few very interesting new options to use, it made me very curious to see what else would unlock, what we’re allowed to do, etc.
There are still a few issues that need to be addressed and polished, but I have faith in the team, as they still have plenty of time to do so.

Copycat promised to pull at the heartstrings, and boi, did they. I think this game is absolutely worth a playthrough—well, or two if you missed achievements like I did. However, that will be for some time later as I really need to let it sink in first, all of it. It's a brilliant game; it hit all the right notes for me. I smiled, I cried, I cried some more, and I ugly cried like there was no tomorrow, only to smile and cry again. Somewhere along the line I also held my breath a few times if I wasn’t busy biting my lip. It was one hell of an emotional rollercoaster. Perhaps because I am a cat mom of three non-fur (sphynx) babies that cling as much to me as I do to them. Or maybe I'm just that sensitive. Or both, honestly, it could be both.

It kept me engaged not only story-wise but also gameplay-wise. With a few fun minigames, quick-time events, and sandbox-like environments, I never felt bored. The game kept moving at a nice pace without feeling forced or rushed. All of this was accompanied by a subtle and relatively quiet soundtrack that wasn't scared to ramp it up when needed to intensify the experience of certain moments.
I also thought the voice acting was impressive. The actors went above and beyond to ensure that all the characters felt authentic and accurate, almost as if they weren't VAs but real—or at least that is how it felt to me.

But in the end, what stood out to me the most and made me love this little gem of a game the most are the messages it tells us within the story. There are more than one, in my opinion. And a big part of me hopes people pick up on those while playing and use them in the wild—also known as real life—to talk about since they are topics that matter.
And since I'm not entirely sure if it would be a spoiler or not, I'm going to put a spoiler over what I found the very most important message of them all:
Never underestimate your pet's unconditional love and loyalty once it has chosen to bond with you!

Carrier-free car ride—wooh! VS a beautiful scene:

I'm a fan of the small RedDeer team and the games they bring us, but I have to be honest and say they've dropped the ball with this one. This really is a shame since I like these fit-in-grid-base puzzle games. Given that this one is a bit more expensive than others on Steam, I expected more, quantity—and quality-wise.
At least it's nothing they can't fix or polish, and I genuinely hope they do since its few stupid flaws now making it more frustrating than enjoyable.

For me, these flaws were:
* I didn't particularly appreciate how it worked with a controller, so I switched to my mouse instead. I was confused when I didn't see my little mouse pointer but saw cats highlight a little. It turns out that if you unplug your controller, you can see your mouse pointer.
* Sometimes if I put one floof in the grid, a floof close by flopped back out. Like why?
* It could have been clearer how many grid spaces some floofs took. It felt like it needed to be more appropriately fitting visually.
* If you don't want to try again and only pick one floof back out of the grid... it refused to be set back outside. It sometimes would after stubbornly trying multiple times, but ugh, this should have been an easy pickup and drop-down mechanic.

So yes, even if it's visually adorable with bright and fun colours, it needs work. It's as simple as that.
Come on, Red Deer. I know you can do it, and I know you have it in you. So show me so I can turn my downer into an upper thumb!

In case anyone is struggling or stuck with a certain level, I've made a guide to help you get back on track:

Caravan Sandwich truly is a breath of fresh air by being an open-world exploration with no action, deaths or violence. Just carefree roaming around, helping other people by doing little (sometimes time-bound) quests while working on the overall bigger (story) quest.
It was a delightful experience with a story that will linger with me for a while.

I must start by saying it is a visual and auditory masterpiece. The soft, vibrant colours set against a post-apocalyptic backdrop, combined with an enchanting audio track, create an immersive experience that's hard to resist. It's a peaceful, inviting world that you'll want to explore.
There are sitting places where you can take a breather, and I have often thought about how I want to be there and sit there… That's when you know you truly got sucked into the game.

The gameplay in Caravan Sandwich is a smooth, enjoyable experience, even for those with limited driving skills—like myself. The game's mechanics are intuitive and easy to grasp, allowing you to focus on exploration and questing without being hindered by complex controls.

And it's impressive how the caravan always landed on its wheels just as Sauge always landed on their feet, given there was a one—maybe two-second impact shock, and very understandably so, given some hights, I leapt off to take shortcuts.
Most of the time, when I did manage to get my Caravan stuck, I could get it unstuck by wiggling around enough, but when all things fail, there is always a trustworthy back-to-garage button to help you out.

Of course, the collector in me was happy too that we had a few things to collect without it being too much or too rigid. At some point, it felt like there was a point of no return, making me scared for a few seconds, wondering, 'But what with the things I haven't finished yet, like some of my achievements?'. But fear not; you can jump right back in after the credits and pick up where you left off.

This game is worth picking up, and when you do, I genuinely hope you love and enjoy it as much as I did. For me, it was worth binge-playing the living frekklesticks out of it—who needs sleep anyway, huh?

A beautiful sitting scene VS a whoopsie... It just happened ok! Don't judge me!

Honestly, from the moment the "dust-up" scene came to play, I just knew this game would rock socks throughout, and so far, it's been a joy. A little bit of hack and slash, a little bit of puzzling, some stealthy moves. It makes me super curious about what else we will get and see beyond the little time I could spend there before I had some RL stuff I had to deal with first.

So, yes, this is an early thumbs-up for support, and I highly doubt that will change.
I love the art/music, the collaboration between 2D and 3D worlds, and the story; I genuinely snickered aloud several times. I also love the fact that there are collectables! I low-key hope I haven't missed any yet!
I'm jumping back in for a few more hours, although I probably should be sleeping soon. But eh... I'm too curious and hooked; I can't wait to discover the rest of the story and the world!
