Avoid like FIRE. Bad Movie This is all this is. A movie. With a story that starts interesting and becomes really really bad towards the middle.

Gameplay wise this is terrible. Shooting guns feels really bad safe a few ones like normal pistol, heavy pistol, carbine rifleand advanced smg. All the other guns spray horribly and when they hit target you do not feel it.

Pacing of the game is horrible, you often have to walk slowly without anything happening for a while, there are a lot of segments like that in this level and they usually take away 1/2 or 1/3 of a level.

Horrible controls and slow tank character movement, yet this game has parkour and climbing. Often times character cant even pull up on really low obstacles and you have to do "the climbing puzzle" or when there is a ledge you can only pull up on it from the middle but if you just a little bit off to the left or right he just won't grab it although it can be clearly seen there was enough space to do so. They also lockout your powers all the time so you cannot speed up your going through boring segments too

Great graphics but terrible effects. Terrible in a way that they are just ugly and annoying. But they are done at a good quality level.

Absolute TRASH checkpoint system. You walk an area, then you fight a huge fight. Then there is a crappy obstacle course and if it just so happens that you die during the course, off you go to play it from before the fight and waste more time.

Spongy enemies. Overall, bad gameplay.

Next Remedy game is a much better game gameplay wise. Check it out - Control is like playing an episode of X: Files without horrible mechanics.

Play this game on EASY. It is not a fun game to play on anything harder than that. I love playing hard games. Dark Souls, DOOM on hardest settings, Quake 2 RTX, whatever other hard game you can think of. This game will just waste your time without being fun or challenging in a meaningful way. Since gameplay is abysmal there is no joy in beating it on hard.

No gas station except for cutscene, no clock tower (2 made such a nice premise for it), no park.

The final facility is totally different. The plot pacing is different and re-shuffled. The game itself is linear, there is no interconnected areas except that one start place in the city. In RE2 the entire map was interconnected. Nemesis is a joke. Mr. X was better. Boring boss fights... against the same guy the same way. Should have put gravedigger as a boss.

Then they added sewers (was not too bad but why remove everything else), and lots of weird linear passages, a lot of cutscenes with explosions. They put Carlos in police station. Boss fights are different and you cannot loot gun parts from defeating nemesis no more.

The game has no puzzles at all. The 2 things that work similar to puzzles are not puzzles. RE2 had some simple nice puzzles. This game does not feel like survival horror, There is too much running and gunning available from the start and later difficulties are not immediately unlocked (and those are the only survival difficulties).

Resident Evil 2 remake seemed to actually follow the original game albeit a few changes.
Resident Evil 3 remake seems to be its own thing

Resident Evil 3 seems like a step down from RE2

The only good thing is the Resistance game mode. I actually enjoy it a lot

Pros:
-Good shooting gameplay pvp and pve wise
-A lot of areas different planets to explore
-Lots of interesting weapons and armors but they are not as crazy as in Borderlands
-Lots of things to do from activities, to pve events, to dungeons etc.
-Cool Bikes to ride
-No pay to win. Game story only has vanity items

Cons:
-Story wise I would say 3 out of 5 campaigns are not great
-Very very grindy tasks to obtain gear that are not worth spending time on, imo
-Many planets look samey. Extremely toxic community full of cheaters and trolls
-Not acceptable UI for 2020 (you cannot sort items by types in vault, for example)
-Not intuitive about many things like certain quests and descriptions tend to be inaccurate
-Peer to peer so you gotta open ports and then once in a while you will get a disconnect still but not as bad as Red Dead Online
-Not enough variety in enemies but they are not too bad.
-I could go on...

Despite outweighing amount cons, I still like it. Try to play it casually, do not ruin your life by getting all the gear and then seeing it nerfed or lvled down.

I have played countless VR titles and I just do not find this game fun to play. The trailers are great but trailers are a showcase of the best moments in game right after the other. in reality this game is not anywhere as fun to play. It is a slow boring slog.

It is long and tedious without much going on. You can see they went for the Half-life and Portal style. The atmosphere seems like Portal behind the scenes test environment and it has a heavy reliance on models taken from half-life like crates and crowbar and many ideas stolen from those series. Like a headcrab that is now a virtual headcrab but looks like a combine. Turrets utilized like in Portal and HL. And while these are cool aspects the game itself lacks in delivering them.

They chose realistic full body physics in this game. What that means is NAUSEA. Now I own HTC vive and PSVR. I can be in VR for hours without nausea and I absolutely enjoy Superhot, Asgard's Wrath (played and beaten in revive), Gorn, Raw Data, Wildlands, Lightblade and Beat Saber, Farpoint and that other system shock rogue like game on PSVR, although I have played many many more. And never do I suffer from nausea in any of them no matter for how long I play.

This game will give you nausea because full body physics in VR like in Blade and Sorcery are a bad idea. Because in order not to feel nausea your body must be fooled that it is going where the eye sees. it is the reason why you can get nausea from playing seated and not moving or if you fall down in VR because you are actually not falling and the brain doesn't get why. With full body physics your hands and body and head will not move through objects and walls. While it seems cool on paper it is a bad design choice for VR game because you will often find yourself stuck due to or impaled on an object. You real body and eye coordination will expect you to have moved forward but the game doesn't let you making you feel nausea. In many games you can go through walls because of that and peek through doors etc. Here you cannot do that but if you accidentally run into a wall prepare for nausea to start building up over time. And there are just so many objects to get stuck on that you will constantly fool your eyes and brain and will end up feeling bad over time. Other games do not have these physics that is why they do not give nausea even if you fly like spiderman in Wildlands.

I suggest Superhot isntead of this, and Asgards' Wrath which are work on HTC vive with revive and work very good. Also Stormland. If you are looking for non vr experience play original Half-life with Brutal mod or Portal series.

This game is pretty bad, I regret buying it but it is too late to refund as it has been more than 14 days and I got winter sale steam rewards for it.

This is definitely not Gothic. What makes Gothic what it is, is the way it is played. The best examples of modern Gothic games that are not Gothic are Risen 1 and Elex. Gothic has interesting lore I give you that but the lore alone doesn't make it that much fun nor the recreation of the locales.

If trying to judge this as game of its own and not Gothic, it is ok. Combat leaves a lot to be desired. Fighting multiple enemies using targetting is insanely hard. You are better off locking OFF target even in most 1v1 fights especially against wild life. Humans react better when you are fighitng them off target and parry your attacks. I cheesed Snapper very easy by left click spamming without target and that is also how I killed 3 wolves very fast. Otherwise I would get killed ez because it is so chaoitc. Also, enemies have a range they wont come out of, making it is to abuse it and sneak back to them do a heavy attack and rinse repeat till they die (they can't die cause at 30% they get healed back as it was never intended). So the game that will be needs to deal with combat.

Graphics are pretty but characters look bland, Diego is Zorro, Bloodwyn is funny with his helmet. Oh, very important note. Bloodwyn's armor is supposed to be made of metal yet when he moves his chest the metal stretches like a tunic. They need to make different types of clothes behave differently or it is lie TES:O.

Story and cutscenes wise: they can be fun to watch and everything here is done interestingly.
Quests are boring and I mean they are way more boring than in Original. Dialogue is boring as hell. Never have I been bored so much and the voice acting is very slow.

Oh and re-work checkpoint system obviously and make cutscenes skipable because rewatching same cutscene many times can be a pain especially if it loads you before you die you cannot do anything about it even with a manual save.

But all the tech stuff aside, this is a cash grab, this is not a Gothic game. They would be better of making its own game than trying to summon old fans of the franchise and attract new ones by the premise of an old game being reborn. Gothic is gameplay, not just setting. From how you pick up items and how enemies do not kill you all the time but just rob you when you are knocked out. How you do not kill anyone unless you want to do it too. All these little things. Being able to climb anywhere unlike here. Gothic is Elex and Risen 1 and lets hope Piranha keeps making Gothic-likes.
