Probably the best take on StS so far. If you love StS, (and I mean literally its kind of a clone in many ways but thats ok! If its not broke dont fix it!), Touhou, and MtG style deck building, this is the game for you. I have enjoyed it a lot and its replay-ability feels much more solid than say monstertrain which falls in a similar vein. As for MtG similarity, you get a set amount of mana that can change as you progress a playthrough, but you dont have mana cards. However, aside from that, how cards play is similar to MtG mana system. You need the same monochromatic mana as the card cost. And you mix and match as you progress each playthrough. Again, I love this game so far and I think the most fun part is each character, so far, has 2 different decks you can experience that do feel unique in playstyle. With the addition of the active item to help you out similar to touhou spell cards it really adds a layer of complexity to the run that I think is more enjoyable. Yet with all the QoL added on, its still difficult. I still lose from a misplay or poor planning. Its still just as punishing which makes it all the more enjoyable when you succeed. Please if, you love touhou and StS, give this a shot.


Edit: After playing quite a bit between big blockbusters and MMO subbed games, I can say, with certainty, this is one of the best comfort rogue like deck builders out there. I continue to find new ways to enjoy the same decks and with new decks and cards being added since Ive started playing I can see this being a game with enjoyable replay-ability for a long while. Again, I implore you, if you enjoy deckbuilders, touhou, and relaxing comfort games, give this game a shot.
