My mom was helping me clean my room earlier today because my bookshelf got infested with termites and I was playing Night Tempo's Pure Present album, and when this song came up, she started singing along to it and I was surprised. Turns out she used to listen to this through a cassette tape her sisters brought her from their vacation in Japan and this was her favorite. She memorized the lyrics even though she doesn't understand Japanese by pausing after every verse and writing down the syllables of the words. She still has those handwritten lyrics, which were compiled on a binder on the same shelf, but thank god the termites haven't reached yet, and she showed it to me along with other Japanese songs that she used to listen to.
