Currently, I cannot play this game due to constantly encountering error 4008. A damn shame, game looks good otherwise.

This is a negative review not because I think it's a bad game (far from it, I'm loving every moment so far) but because I have to vent about the most irritating thing this game has: built-in, unskippable trailers for its DLC, which will play in frequent intervals without any prompting from you. The notion that they need to force me to watch an advert for more DLC after I've bought the game is frankly insulting. This is a terrible marketing decision and shows complete disdain for their player-base, from a marketing stand-point at least.

Honestly, if the trailers were skippable, I wouldn't be worried, but the fact that the game forces you to sit through it (or at least let it run, often several in a row, while you go off and get coffee or whatever) before you're 'allowed' to continue playing the game is completely ridiculous.

I'd heard good things about this game and was quite eager to give it a go. Unfortunately, two major issues I had with the game left me with no desire to finish it.

First, the main character. Rufus is immoral and contemptible, and while the notion of seeing him go through a journey of personal growth and come out something more would definitely be appealing, up to the point I got he had shown no signs of change. It was also hard to understand the rationale behind some of his decisions, or to understand why he was so full of himself. Maybe he changed at the end of the game, but... I had no desire to stick around and find out.

As to the puzzles, while I'm all for a bit of challenge and some convoluted logical steps (the Phoenix Wright games are amongst my favourite, and they're not exactly bastions of clear logic at times), this game at times had some completely baffling combinations required to progress. I see other people in the comments saying you need to combine everything with everything to progress, but really, if that is what is required then there is something wrong. It goes from being a logic game to just a clicker game. You may as well play cookie clicker while watching a tv show at the same time. Perhaps its too quirky for my tastes, but at one point I found myself needing to go to a walkthrough to see what to do next, at which point I uninstalled the game.

Clearly the majority of people who have rated this so far have enjoyed it, and good for them. I just found it more irritating than enjoyable.

A fantastic puzzle game with some heavy philosophical overtones, definitely worth checking out.

The mechanics of the game are simple, but with a captivating soundtrack, beautiful artwork and an involving story revealed through excellent narration, this game is elevated into something more.

A hallmark for the importance of well-used sound in a game, this is an experience that you will remember when all your memories of other mundane gaming moments have disappeared.

If you don't see plots as being simply a means to an end -that is, purely to give context to the gameplay- then this is definitely a game to purchase and enjoy.

Not flashy at all, but a good simulator. Don't expect magnificent set pieces in the current shooter style. Skill is what keeps you alive here. Satisfying when you get it right, horrifying when things go wrong.

Appropriate considering the subject matter, I suppose...

Definitely a game to get.

Unbelievable game. If you've ever dreamed of having your brother/sister excommunicated and subsequently assassinated, then this is for you!

Now with 100% greater chance of your world conquest being halted by the Black Death.
