definitely has potential, but seems to get less fun the more you play it. As i came to actually understand the systems I found they were less interesting and fun than I would've guessed basically every time. There is an awesome building system, but no reason to ever build since the enemies never EVER attack you unless you go to their base and fight them, there's a ton of materials and items but most of them are completely useless, and there's a ton of combat but there's no reason to do it. There's a bunch of cool places to loot but there's no reason to loot them because in most areas of the map you KNOW the items wont be worthwhile, and even if they are it's just a few point damage upgrade. The world is completely dead with only enemies present, not a single NPC in the actual world. The NPCs you capture for your base have no personality or reason to them, they don't actually do anything except stand around waiting for you to interact with them, the fact that many items are only craftable with one specific npc makes walking around your base trying to find the guy you're looking for a real thing. The implementation of the npcs makes the game feel even less alive and it just kills the desire to play the game. Add in the fact that 80% of the time you die it's because of bugs or weird animations, and it becomes extremely frustrating and unrewarding to play. The entire skill tree basically has no fun abilities on it besides the double jump, meaning I just stopped allocating my skill points at a certain point because I couldn't be bothered. Progressing in this game has been one of the more disappointing gaming experiences I've had.

this game is incredibly bad

It's ok. They fumbled the launch but I actually think the server problems were a blessing because it made more time pass before people realized how repetitive and boring the game actually is, meanwhile nobody could refund it because they had waited over 2 hours in a queue. Relatively meaningless progression, pretty decent gameplay although there's been a host of bugs. Ultimately it's not a BAD game but it isn't a great one either. Only people who really love games like this will be able to play it without getting bored in my opinion due to every mission being exactly the same, and awarding you only useless points that don't do anything.

this game is completely unplayable on pc. When you snap the ball in an online game it feels like you're playing in slow motion and the menus have a full second of input lag. This is with a pc far outpacing the required specs.

once you play this it's very hard to go back to overcooked. In overcooked you struggle because the maps are working against you, in plateup you struggle because you're an idiot and you overcooked the steak.

The negative reviews are ridiculous, this is one of the best new releases i can remember.

They've taken a serious step back with this one, over-promised and under-delivered

1/29/2025 update : with mod support and some good and much needed updates I now think its worth it

I like the game although it isn't worth 40$, it has tons of flaws that I'd expect to be easy to fix, and will often crash when you load into a game. however it IS a fun game. The reason I can't recommend it is because after 10 hours of playing I loaded it up to continue and found that my save was just not there, its as if I never started a career in the first place.
