Literal best game I've ever played. Except maybe Oneshot, that's also a really good game, but this one is fantastic too.

The devs sold out to Sony with an exclusivity deal- The PS5 version of the game features a second set of campaign missions, totaling about 30% of the base game's size. The DLC is exclusive to the PS5 port, and there has been complete radio silence for the past several months about the state of the PC version of the game. This is unacceptable behavior, and you should not pay for this game, as genuinely great as it is. They voluntarily signed an NDA regarding the DLC's future accessibility to PC players. If this situation changes, then I will change my review.

i'm so glad someone made a post-mortem memorial game for Jeremy, he was so beloved by the local community. nobody else weaved baskets underwater quite like him, RIP 🙏🙏

edit after beating Outer Wilds: yeah just go play Oneshot or Stray or something if you want an exploration mystery type game, unless you're really into backtracking in places you've already been to find the one tiny detail you missed during your last several times there. all of the environments are visually distinct, and the stylized graphics are absolutely this game's strong suit; yet at the same time, after exploring so many various locations, they all feel the same. the core gameplay loop never changes from one area to the next. every single one of the named characters, except for maybe 2, exist solely to drip feed you hints on where to go, with near-zero charm or personality, so you really have to be into walking simulator exploration to enjoy this game. i think i'm more disappointed than anything else considering how much raw acclaim this title has received, so don't go in with your hopes too high.
it's commonly said that "you can only play Outer Wilds once". but when i look back at my experience with this game, i'm forced to ask the question, "why would i play it more than once in the first place".

Crazy overrated, just not very fun. Maybe pick it up on sale.

I have nothing to add, it's a masterpiece. It's worth every penny and every second, go in blind.
