Ya know what, just figured id bang my review here - the community is absolutely raging over a somewhat bad UI - the last thing i want is new players put off because of the negative reviews.

Yes the new UI isnt great, theyve just taken a page out of the CoD or Netflix style horizontal UI. This may work better for consoles and when viewing on large TVs but for the PC yea its not great. However, its just a damn UI, took me a whole 5 minutes to get used to and crack on - im only in it for a few minutes between games. It is not a deal breaker. Anyone moaning that they spent 20 minutes and cant play because they cant navigate is likely the same fool who cant open a door if it doesnt state if its push or pull!

Onto the performance, obv the graphical overhaul is nice, lighting and environment looks beautiful and feels like sound is better as well. Im having a blast and loving the changes. Myself, ive had 0 issues, ive got the new nvidia drivers that just dropped and ive only had 1 crash due to changing my displays resolution whilst in game.
I feel changing performance options whilst playing can have a somewhat negative impact, best do it in menu.

For clarity, i'm running a 4060, AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3d and 32GB RAM. I have my graphics settings set to ultra with DLSS set to quality.
I'm getting about 110 FPS in more open areas, averaging around 95 FPS in more active areas and i've had some drops to 70 when i've gone inside with the butcher and ♥♥♥♥♥ gone cray cray on fire. I will say, those drops haven't been stuttering, i've only noticed as i've got my FPS counter on.

Overall i'm loving the changes, the fact they didn't do some nonsense and try sell it as a second game and hopefully brings in some extra players.
Oh one last thing, i do think the new map could do with a player increase, its such a lovely map with really well thought out PoI's and even the bits between, but has so much more space that could be filled with players to really up the ante and increase firefights.

tldr; Amazing experience - Cheaper than a takeaway, It'll download quicker than any can get to your house even if your internet is delivered over a piece of damp string and would likely run on a slightly aggressive potato.

The game gets so much right in such a small package its hard to believe. If you like survival exploration games plat it, if they've always seemed daunting to you then this is a great one to start with.

It doesnt hold your hand but its not overly complicated either. Progression and unlocks occur organically and you can play the game how you like - i spent the first 20 hours building a wooden long house, my friend did it exploring islands in a raft - its your world, play how you like.

Transition to other servers/multiplayer is seamless - your character and held inventory follow and your last known position is saved against each server. Want to try a new world with islands and seas then just pop a new seed in and crack on with no loss of progression.
