The game delivers a compelling story that keeps you engaged without feeling overindulgent, striking a good balance between narrative and gameplay. It's immersive level design is highly effective, drawing you into its world with atmospheric soundscapes and detailed environments that feel purposeful and enhance both exploration and tension. The combat system is satisfying and enjoyable. As a horror game, it excels in immersion, with a dreadful atmosphere and meticulous attention to detail that keep you on edge throughout.

The only issue I had with this game was with the optimization: I did experience some micro-stutters, but it did not stop me from enjoying the game.

Outstanding game with memorable characters and unique storyline that keeps you engaged from start to finish.
One big flaw of the game is that the side missions got very repetitve very quickly. The game itself is also not fully finished - Kojima left Konami before he and his team got to polish the final mission(s). Nonetheless its a great experience.
The real phantom pain emerges when you finish the game, leaving an indelible void that echoes long after the final credits.

Better than disco elysium

As much as I loved the newer games like We were here forever, this one was annoying and the puzzles were rather absurd and incoherent.

This sequel masterfully builds upon the solid foundations established by the original game, refining and enhancing nearly every aspect. It not only met my high expectations but exceeded them in remarkable ways, delivering everything I hoped for—and so much more. The developers have truly outdone themselves, creating a game that feels both familiar and refreshingly innovative.
