Early Access Review
July 20 EDIT: The game got its official launch!!! They made a lot of optimization changes which are very noticeable. I haven't had any performance or crashing issues, though I would recommend an SSD. The last update made my load times on HDD work great but it doesn't hurt to be safe. The advice I give in this review is still relevant, but I will add that you want to group at the start of night one and start looking for objectives to fight over. It was super refreshing to see the player count go up at 2am in the morning on release. It is a little disappointing that they removed the solos game mode but honestly, I expect it to be back in the near future. Like all games, you won't have the best teammates and you won't have a great idea of what you are doing at first. Generally, people who play online multiplayer games understand this, so don't go in expecting to be the best at everything. I'm not sure if new players still go into bot lobbies for a bit but just bear with it. The game gets a lot better in PVP. Just use the bot games to practice routing your build by the end of day one.

This game is worth it. I came as a League of Legends refugee and I stayed for the game play. I really like the IP behind everything and I want to see the game succeed. This game occupies an interesting niche of crafting, battle royale, and MOBA. The ranking system is also pretty adept at mitigating losses for early griefing or other incident-worthy behavior. The game has improved a lot since I first started, and there are MANY new content changes that allow for more unique builds and gameplay styles.

There is a lot to learn but that goes for pretty much any multiplayer game. New players will have a pretty hard time so I'll leave a few tips on the META here:

Most abilities scale off of both Attack damage and Skill amplification. Generally, characters will have viable build paths for either. This goes for tanky builds too.

The game has a day/night cycle. The main difference between the two is what objectives spawn. These objectives are materials you can use to craft late game items.

Your FIRST priority as a new player is practicing to get your full build done by the end of day 1. It is important to do this so you can fight for the objectives that spawn on night 1.

Inventory management can be hard. A good rule of thumb is to craft as little as possible until your last zone. build components for your boots whenever possible. If your inventory is full, spam craft until you can progress.

Each zone has what are called "clusters." These are searchable locations placed in an intuitive path towards the next zone, or teleporter. When you spawn or teleport, you will be in a cluster. You should always search in the direction of the next zone you are going to, or towards a teleporter.

Try not to kill animals until you have all of your items. For many builds, you may need leather dropped from an animal. In that case look for a chicken to kill, it will be MUCH faster.

Most combat doesn't happen until night one. Most people who know what they are doing avoid combat because completing your build is very important.

ALRIGHT, let me just say that im playing on an i5-3337u 1.8ghz- 2.7ghz laptop with NVIDIA Geforce GT 720M with 2 GB VRAM. The game runs fine, albeit a little slower fps than i like but i can always lower the graphics. The game doesn't feel like the traditional copy paste CALL OF DUTY style shooter, it feels a lot more different and i feel it brings a great new idea to the table. i've only played the first mission so im pobably going to add to my review down the line but i've noticed that people are having a few problems so I thought i would share that it works fine for me and my specs, which ill admit i wasn't to confident about when i saw the minimum requirements but to my fancy, it works fine.

Alright, I finished the game and I LOVED <3 IT!!!. the game kind of settled itself and now theres no lag anymore. This has to be the first FPS game to ever have an interesting story line, it was hard to stop playing. Cons would have to be the AI, they tend to hesitate unless they get the drop on you. Its not that much of a problem on Uber difficulty but on the easier difficulties it can be easier just to become a tank and shed people to peices with dual weponry, but thats a choice thats up to the player.Though most people say that the choices dont matter too much i belive that the game is worth a second play through at least because the game does change a bit whenever you choose wyat or fergus. The one complaint that I have is that i seems your and errand boy for caroline and the rest of the "resistance". i say that becuase only once does anyone of them join you in combat, it feels like you do all the work. Other than that the game is worth buying and worth a second playthrough.
