This game will initially kick your butt with how the odds are stacked against you, but once you get the hang of it you'll spend many hours playing it (like I have). The roguelike nature of every play-through being a unique experience & all the unlockable ship types & variants give this game plenty (I'd even say unlimited) replayability. I've "beaten the game" many years ago, but constantly come back to play it - I'd even go to say it's one of my favorite games to play on PC.

Honestly just prefer USF4 over SFV. People still play online/ranked surprisingly (probably not so much on consoles)

It's Qix ( That old arcade game where you draw squares & vector graphics are bad guys; link ) but medieval & different types of enemies. For a buck it's a fun simple game.
