Combat is not as hard as people say it is. I don't play dark souls and am not even that used to using a gamepad but got through with no problem. Sure bosses took a few tries but that's how it's supposed to be.
The puzzles are also very solvable by yourself. If you put some time and thought into it, you wont need a guide to reach the 'true' ending. Though there are some extra secrets that actually are super hard to find/solve, you wont need to do them unless you really want to do them
