A game about dating but you are not the one actually getting the date but a somewhat preset character you can shape a bit. I bought this on a whim because reviews were positive and FMV games have been a rarity after the 90s with graphics becoming more and more realistic.

The actors and actress are actually pretty solid, it still somewhat feels scripted because each characters are pretty locked into a specific persona but it is to make the experience more interesting and there are a few twists. Having the best friends for a debriefing is actually a pretty good idea, it gives a break to the dating and usually brings some humour into the tray when the dates are not all rainbow and sunshine.

One playthrough is a bit short because it follow a 3-2-1 formula and you need multiple playthrough to experience the 5x3 amount of dates but the possibility of short sessions can be a nice thing if that's what you want. It feels like it ends a bit quickly after the third date, having something more after the dating could also be interesting, maybe a sequel? The full price is a bit high considering the length but it's a surprisingly enjoyable concept I would like more of.

I find the critics harsh on the game. It is not a masterpiece but it's another solid game by Cyanide. Forced stealth seems to be a big complaint but it is barely the first hour or so of the game, you have a good 7 hours of mayhem if you wish so after that. Closer to 5 hours if you put it on easy, ignore stealth at all beside the early mandatory part, and have some mindless destructive fun. Ironically enough, I think there are more encounters in the whole game that force combat than stealth. I'm not sure if it is bad game design or people having too short attention span, I'm pretty sure you can finish the "tutorial" in the 2 hour Steam refund period and actually see what the game really is.

Voice acting is not awful but bland, graphics even on maximum are rough for 2022 and gameplay remind you of old PS2 action-rpg but it is what I expected controlling a fearsome werewolf. The skill tree is simple and does not offer game changing skills but it allow you to focus on your favorite playstyle. The game is quite linear, mission based with very few sidequests and while you can have a couple different way to explore the areas it's pretty much a series of rooms. Open or Semi-Open World would probably have been too much for Cyanide but it would have been great for this game.

My knowledge of the Werewolf part of the World of Darkness is on the low side so I can't say how faithful it is but I enjoyed the nature and spirit lore. Plants and other natural trinkets being your source of experience is a fun idea and does not penalise stealth since combat does not give experience at all.

The only reason I would not recommend this game is because of Nacon and the one year Epic exclusivity. The game itself is fine if you buy it on sale because it is a solid 7/10 for me but too short for the full price.
