I haven't played the original, but I've seen the gameplay and have read about it and it is the same. I don't understand the whining. It is a fun game and cheap at that. I got it for even cheaper than the standard price and it is worth every penny. It is also fun with a friend. The graphics are fun and the music is just amazing.

It is a great strategy game and very detailed. It is quite fun, but also challenging. Diplomacy is much more interesting now and the characters actually have a personality now.

Great game. Bought it on Steam summer sale and love it. It is realistic but doesn't push the boundary of too realistic. A bit hard to get into (i'm on hour 16 and still learning) but it's a great fun.

This is one of my favorite games. It is a lot of fun and interesting. The mechanics are nice and comparing to other Paradox games it is easier to understand and is not that hard. The downside are the missing features like espionage. If you buy this game at its full price you NEED to play with mods. The mods add a lot of flavour to the game. Some add features, but others change the game and even add some features from other Paradox's games or completely change how you play the game.

The first game I played was without mods. It was the first one so it was quite fun. After the first game I understood that you need mods to make this game not repetitive and fun.

Over all it is a nice game. But playing with mods is a necessity.

I really wanted to like this game. While watching a gameplay it seems fun, but in reality it is not that fun. The tutorial is not good, especially for new players. It also is quite boring. You click some things, change numbers, send the same stuff to the AI and so on. It is a lot of fun when you watch a gameplay and not playing it.
