I only have 3 hours on Steam, but I've played this game for over 5,000 hours on console and I can say that all the negative reviews are just salty AFK players mad at the Wukong and AoE nerfs. DE really puts a lot of work into making the game good, and while they've had blunders in the past, they almost always seem to make right with the playerbase. Yes, the game has bugs and can be a broken mes. Yes, the game's meta changes like a white girl trying to decide what she wants for dinner. But for all its flaws, the game is a genuinely fun space ninja looter shooter and a great game to play with your friends or solo.

I definitely recommend trying it if you're looking for a new game to pick up long term, and yes it do mean long term. This game will suck you in and keep you coming back, and I mean that in the best way.

EAC isn't as bad as people say, but it's still not ideal. For all people say about it killing frame rates, that'll be fixed by the gradual optimization of the code base. Anti-cheat is just a necessary evil this game has to have. They're routinely implementing QoL features now that they've had their asses put to the fire. For some it's too little too late, but neosVR is a dumpster fire and ChilloutVR is moving too slowly for it to be worth playing. This is honestly the best option if you want a VR social sim, and EAC does little to hinder people from playing it unless they were trying to play it on a PC that is not to specs or were being a skid.

The Good:
The game overall runs well, controls excellently, and is downright fun to play. I had a great time leveling up Munch and beating up everything in my way. The weight gain/inflation mechanic is integrated seamlessly into the game as well. I found that the game is challenging regardless of how far you've progressed in terms of abilities due to the weight system. While you get stronger, the trade-offs of being big mean you have to think out your approaches before going into a situation.

Aesthetically, the game is amazing! All the sprite art is very well made, and the soundtrack absolutely bops. No lie i could listen to the music for so many of the stages for hours and enjoy every second of it!

The "Bad":
Nothing really, though some things do need improved. There were a couple soft-locks I found, and it was somewhat annoying to get into a situation where you were forced to let yourself pop because you couldn't button-mash enough to shrink yourself. Game-breaking? No. Annoying? Yeah, definitely. The only other problem was the experience gain. I found experience gain in the late game segments tediously slow, but that was made up for my an infinite exp farm exploit I found in the end section.

Also some achievements are only available at one point in the game and would require a restart to 100% the game. Not the end of the world but could do with a NG+ option for those that would like to 100% the game.

My Recommendations:
- If possible, add better exp scaling with high level enemies, or an upgrade that makes sitting and losing weight grant more exp for the late game
- Slow down food cannons. They were the cause of many soft-locks
- Slow down or reduce air inflation from bees and bubble-ghosts, the other prominent soft-locks were caused when a swarm of bees would continually sting you or a bubble-ghost would move above you and continually spawn bubbles, getting you stuck in place
- Possible addition of a new game+ option for those who want to replay the game for the story without the exp grind.

Overall the game is a solid 8/10 for me in it's current state. I'm sure with some improvements this could become a 10/10!

It has an engaging story and a pleasantly enjoyable combat system. The Active Time Battling gives it just the bit of challenge needed over traditional turn-based combat while also remaining true to the genre. It has it's hiccups, but it more than makes up for them. Would highly recommend even if you aren't a fan of JRPGs.
