Coming back to this game was the best 25$ I've ever spent. Even after 7 years, the nostalgia held up better than I expected while I was reminded of what the Dead Rising series used to be. The zombies, though far sparser than in the sequels, present a much more dangerous and present threat within the environment than they did in DR2 and especially DR3. The pshycopaths are more unique than I ever cared to remember back then, and they kept every single tiny element from the original game(excluding the save slot, Hurrah!), which i find both infuriating and but even more absolutely love("Don't cut me off like that! It's rude!"). This game is for lack of a better description a perfect port, forgiving the frame drops from when you gib multiple zombies with weapons like the sledgehammer. I would highly suggest this to both returning players as well as anyone looking for a solid game with replay value and a linear story that you can just flip the bird and ignore for some good ole slaughter and rescueing to get that level up. It's the best in the entire series in my personal opinion(and im sure many others), and provides a guaranteed 7-8 hours of awesome story, zombie slaughter and if you wanna try and rescue everyone, it can also be one hell of a challenge(Courtesy of the perfectly ported atrocious AI). Buy it and love it.

One other thing of note for fans, the remastered graphics were fantastically done. Not in the sense that the textures were out of this world(they look damn good though), but because for a seasoned fan like me used to more graphically intense games these days, the textures and fps made it feel like the game hadn't aged a day, hell it looked clearly better even. And really, that's all I could really ask for. Well done, Capcom!

After over 500 hours of my life, the developers ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ contradict themselves and turn this partial pay to win game into an offical pay to win game. I'll remove this review if and when overkill decides that being a bunch of lying ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ isnt working. ♥♥♥♥ OFF WITH THE MICROS.

Early Access Review
This game is continuosly becoming more and more of a dissapointment as the developers continue to shift their focus to other games they're currently developing. The whole reason I personally got this game was since they stopped adding content to the mod so they could "focus on developing the standalone", raising my expectations. Since then, the mod has had ♥♥♥♥-all for content added, and it seems every update for the alpha they release is just a hotfix for bugs and glitches that existed upon release. It's been 9 months and the game is almost the exact same, besides some minor gameplay changes. So until they finally add new content or at least stop ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around trying to develop new games and porting this undeveloped alpha piece of ♥♥♥♥ over to another console, then ♥♥♥♥ this, I'm going to play the mod.
