Since so many people are downvoting this review, I cut it down to make it super quick and easy;

Pros:
- Not completely awful looking?
- Runs halfway decent

Cons:
- AI have unlimited ammo
- Bad AI in general
- Short AI respawn times (Bad if you plan to stay looting in an area for even a short time)
- Scarce loot (Not in a good way)
- Terrible gun mechanics
- Terrible PvE balancing

Long story short, in my relatively short playtime I found absolutely zero redeeming qualities.
Plain and simple, I see no reason for anyone to own this game.

For $0.34 (Had a 66% off coupon) It's not a bad little arcade shooter. Even for $0.99 it's a pretty good deal. Unfortunately there's not really much to the game. There's like 6-7 different weapons (If you don't count Lvl.1-3 as different weapons) between two game-types (Campaign and Car Defense) A limited variety of enemies (Maybe like 4 total unless I'm forgetting one) And there's practically no 'options' Just Resolution and Fullscreen.

All-in-all, it's not a bad deal for $0.99 and it's something you can launch and get into quickly and easily if you needed to kill like 5-10 minutes with some mindless action.

That being said, with a little more work, this could easily be a $4.99 game, but it is what it is.

Oh yeah and for bonus points, the art is interesting and the music isn't half bad.

The game itself is solid.
Small player-base (1,000-2000 on average from what I saw)
The community however, is cancer one way or another.
On one hand you got the ones who piss and moan that the game is broken or unbalanced when really they're just bad at the game or have a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ PC. Then on the other hand you have elitist ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that'll teamkill you or get you votekicked if you aren't playing the game EXACTLY to their liking. It just feels like the CoD kids just grew up and just couldn't find sactuary anywhere else, so instead they just roost here stroking their ego's because they figured out how to play the game and they think they're gods.

Just to share a personal experience that perfectly exemplifies this;
I was playing a match on a 64 man server and I was playing and doing the objectives just fine. I was pulling my weight and then some, being a real team player. Then some kid joins the server, decides he knows best how to play the game and then team-kills me while I'm defending an objective with a mounted MG (quite effectively mind you, cutting down waves of enemies and holding the OBJ as best I can). Next thing you know he shoots me in the back of the head (on my own team, in case it wasn't clear) and when I ask him why, he says something along the lines of, "You weren't using the MG to shoot the heli, and I didn't want waste time telling you to shoot the heli." Of course we lost the objective shortly after as it almost immediately got over-run following this incident. So I tell him he should've just said something instead of just shooting me, literally "Shoot heli" would've sufficed. Next thing you know he's vote-kicking ME for team-killing/griefing crying in the mic saying 'Oh this guy's intentionally team-killing. vote kick him, F1 f1 f1.' wah wah wah. Just to be clear, this is HIM, the teamkiller, saying this about ME, the guy actually trying to help our team win. Sure enough everyone believes him and I get vote-kicked and session banned from the server. Not even a minute later he adds me on steam and says, "GET ♥♥♥♥ REFUND GAME ♥♥♥♥♥♥" or something to that effect. At the end of it all, I'm just speechless as to how the the community is just totally fine with this. Like this is acceptable behaviour.

TL:DR - Some punk kid who was on the server for 5 minutes team-killed me, then blamed me for it and got me kicked/session banned from the server I had been on for hours, all because I wasn't playing the way he wanted me to play. Then proceeded to harass me even after the incident.

Of course that's a pretty extreme example, as not 'all' players are quite that ♥♥♥♥♥♥, but it comes in varying degrees in just about every match. And just as a bit of a post-statement. What I wrote previously, "Then on the other hand you have elitist ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ... EXACTLY to their liking" That's not just in reference to what I personally experienced. I've seen other people get votekicked or team-killed for other varying degrees of incompetence or inexperience. Either they're not flying a helicopter well enough, or they're not moving up on the OBJ at the same time as everyone else, or they accidentally team-killed once and even apologized for it, but that's not good enough.

So long story short, the game is good, but the community is straight up chernoble day-1 post meltdown.

Recently tried V1.0, and I gotta say the optimization and performance of the game has come a long way. It's actually playable and runs reasonably well even on higher settings.

However, somehow they managed to make a lot of the gameplay elements and world interactions less intuitive and more frustrating.

Ultimately in my latest play session, I got DayZ'd in the end regardless since the game decided it wasn't important to inform me in any way shape or form that I was bleeding profusely untill I was literally seconds from dying at which point I passed out and died before I could even attempt to stop the bleeding. They used to inform you with a system message saying, "I feel blood on my clothes", but I guess being aware of having a gaping, life-threatening wound is unrealistic so they took it out. Because in real life whenever I accidentally cut myself, I'm completely unaware of it untill the bleeding kills me.

Oh, and this is neither here nor there, but apparently Zombies can climb/vault high fences, with their own custom animation and everything, which is nifty and makes Zombies a little more threatening, but why can't players do that too?

Not to mention melee combat is also worse than it used to be. Before I feel like there was at least a little bit of feedback and you attacks would actually connect with the zombies, but now both you and the zombie just kind of arbitrarily flail at one another until one of you dies. Plus I guess zombies have fists in the back of their head because a number of times I would sneak up on a zombie, start smackin' them, and just get popped before they even turn around. So that's good.

Bottom line; My old review still holds true, just buy Arma 3 and play modded DayZ, still better than this garbage.

There's not really a whole lot to be said about this game. I mean it's not like, blow your socks off amazing, but for $8, it's actually a pretty decent little beat 'em up. Combat is generally pretty fluid, a few stiff animations but nothing too serious.
I mean I wish there was a little bit more to the game itself though, like character customization, different characters to play entirely, a more complex combat system, or just, something more. But I really can't complain too much because it's only $8. Plus it's something you can just pick up and play pretty easily. Oh and did I mention there's native controller support?

For what it's worth, I thought about refunding this game, not for any reason other than I just don't see myself coming back to play this game frequently, but I decided against it just because I figure, eh why not keep it? It's not so bad.

Alright I'll be a little more detailed since 2 out of 2 people downvoted this review.

Pros:
- Decent gunplay
- More about strategy/positioning rather than twitch reaction
- Relatively quick games (Could be a con too, I'll explain below)
- Well balanced loot
- Brutal Shield/Barrier (Could be a con too)
- Free

Cons:
- Instantly deployable shields kinda ♥♥♥♥ up gunfights
- Med spam (Not 'too' bad considering everyone can do it, I'll explain more below)
- Gun's aren't super accurate, even at moderate ranges
- Too much time between matches (Explained below)
- Shield/Barrier moves too quickly (In my opinion, More below)

So, suffice to say, I do like the game, and I enjoy it much more than PU:BG, but that's not to say this game is 100% the greatest thing ever, because it's not. It needs work because as stated previously the gunplay is decent, but it could be better because as I've said the guns aren't really 100% accurate. Even with a DMR style gun and a scope, firing at anything even at a moderate range can be a slight challenge because you can't exactly rely on your reticle to give you a completely accurate idea of where your bullets are going. Mostly with this game, it's a matter of spraying and praying, but it's not 'too' bad, just not perfect. The other thing about this is, coupled with everyone having plentiful access to low-quality healing items, and being able to spam them, firing at someone at a decent range is more or less pointless because they can just spam heal until they get to cover (Or worse yet, stop and instantly deploy their own cover, more on that later). Now this can be both a good thing and a bad thing because it means the game is less about dying to random spontanteous firefights, and more about taking people out in planned or thought-out engagements. Basically, there's less getting two-shot in the back while running through an open plain because someone was camping on a hill with an AK, and more about dying because you walked around a corner while somebody was holding the angle, if that makes sense.
In other words, this game has more of a Dark Souls type of death where, when you die you say to yourself, "Yeah I could've prevented that. I shouldn't have done that and I should've done this. It would've been the smarter thing to do."

Now, as for the time between matches. This is easily the single most frustrating thing about the game because a good number of my matches last only a few minutes, as dying early in a match isn't an uncommon occurence. So once you go to find a new match, first it takes about a minute to load into the match itself, then, if you load in before most other people (Which I always do) then you have to wait for everyone else to finish connecting. Once everyone is connected (Could take 30 seconds to a minute) THEN you have to wait a solid 3 minutes, not for any reason, just because you do. Then once those three minutes are up, you get to wait another 20 seconds just so the game can tell you not to team up in single-qeues or you'll get banned (Which I don't know how because there's no report function in the game). So in total, you have to wait up to 5 minutes or so, just to start a match. So if you die 3 minutes into the match, it gets incredibly frustrating.

As for the shield/barrier in this game, It's both a good and bad thing. Unlike most other Battle Royale style games, the barrier in this game deals exponentially more damage the longer you're outside the radius. This is good because it discourages people willingly running outside the shield for prolonged periods of time to try and flank someone, but at the same time it gives people who are actually stuck outside the shield any decent chance to get within the boundaries. Which is made worse by the fact that the time between size reductions is quite slim. I find more often than not, that if I'm on the edge of the circle as soon as I get the notification that says it will move soon, I have just barely enough time to sprint to the next area before the shield actually kills me. Mind you, most of the time I'll still take damage, just not enough to kill me. So in other words, if you plan on not getting killed by the barrier, you can't stop moving in closer, like, ever. Admittedly this could probably be avoided in most cases with slightly more careful planning, but it's still something I feel could be tweaked just a little bit.

TL;DR - Not the worst thing ever, but needs some work. A few anoying mechanics within the game, but if you're clever enough you can work your way around them with ease. All-in-all, it's worth a shot, especially because it's free.

It's a cool idea, and I want to like it, but it's really clunky, limited content and creation abilities. Suffice to say, it has potential to be good, but at the moment it's just meh.

Don't feel like going super in-depth with this review, but I'll just say that I quite like it. It has a very D&D feel to it, in a good way. Admittedly it seems like it might be a little.... 'hardcore' for my tastes? But that's not to say it's bad, just sucks that the campaigns can end so quickly, never really get the chance to get invested into my character or anything. The only thing I can really gripe about is that the character models for one, all look quite samey in terms of the base body, and without any real character customization, again, it makes it hard to really get invested in my characters. Also, all the character models just look way too serious and stern, and all in equal proportion. Doesn't really give the individual characters 'character', y'know? Makes them all just seem like generic disgruntled mercenaries with different outfits.

Of course that's honestly a pretty subjective argument and has no real affect on the actual gameplay.

All in all, it's actually a pretty nice little Early access turn-based RPG strategy game. I quite enjoyed it. Of course it still needs some work before it's really 100% solid, but for $15 I say it's at least worth the gamble.

Currently the most promising Battle-Royale style game available, still needs work though.

Pros:
- Weapon customization
- Looks 'decent'
- When it's good, it's good

Cons:
- Poor gun-play, little skill involved (Though admittedly better than most other BR type games)
- Maybe a rare/one-time bug, but started randomly taking 1pt of damage every once in a while during a match. No I wasn't being shot, especially because if I was, I wouldn't only be losing 1 health each hit.
- No real reward for coming in first (You get a few more credits than normal, but buying rewards crates gets exponentially more expensive while the reward money stays mostly the same.)
- No FOV slider, locked at like 60-70 FOV (Unless you can modify the game's .cfg files, haven't checked)
- Poorly optimized (Poor FPS without weird workarounds, even on high-end PC's)
- Inconsistent performance (Ties in with last point, When it's good it's good, but it chugs sometimes)
- Desync like a mofo (Happens at random, can last up to 10 minutes)
- Hackers? (Maybe? I'll explain at the bottom of the review.)
- Controls/Interactions aren't always 100%, sometimes you have to spam F to pick up something or get in a car.
- Damage model seems inconsistent (Sometimes I get 2-shot body-shot by a UMP9 even with Lvl 2 Vest and Helm, or watch a dude tank 6-7 shots from an AKM in Lvl 1 Armor, could be tied to desync/netcode problems)
- Early Access

Alright so to explain my point about there potentially being hackers, I use that term loosely because to be honest I can't tell 100%. To explain the sort of things I've experienced, I've had people nearly 1-shot me with bear fists (Took over 80% of my HP in a single punch), Plus I've had times where I drop in from the plane, not a single player drops in anywhere near me, and then 5 seconds later someone's 10 ft away from me with an AKM and Armor. I've also had people run up on me out of nowhere without making a sound, among other things. Now is that to say that everytime anything like this happened that it was a 'hacker' so to say? Not really, but it's a lot of weird little inconsistency's and strange occurances that I can't quite explain besides just saying, "The game did something weird." Y'know? Like in the case of players appearing right next me, maybe it was just someone who dropped in late and chuted early or something, then just drifted in near me without me noticing, or maybe the game just didn't render them while they were dropping in, I don't know. Then with taking inconsistent damage, again maybe that was just some netcode thing, like maybe on their end they hit me a few times, but on my screen it only looked like one, who knows. I'm just sharing some of the things I've experienced, so take it with a grain of salt.

As per the rest of my experience with the game, I would say it's a lot like H1Z1 in terms of the gameplay loop, where pretty much the best guns are going to be a 5.56 Assault rifle (Mostly the M416) and a 7.62 assault rifle (AKM), or if you're really lucky, a high-powered sniper rifle like an AWM. Basically the chances of you winning a game with anything other than the three mentioned guns are very low, Similar to the way H1Z1's winning guns were the M16, AK, and Sniper.

Of course much like H1Z1, Third Person is available, and broken, although Unlike H1Z1, going first person and actually aiming are mostly your best bet for killing people with precision.

So, suffice to say I think PU:BG does better in a lot of area's where most other games of the same genre fail miserably, but that being said it's only marginally better and still needs a fair amount of work. That being said I still don't think it's worth the money just yet, buuut it's not far off either, to be fair.
