It's like the first game, but better.

Some would argue the first game has a better story, but that's up to personal preference. The game takes what made the first one great, and proceeds to make it even better. Gameplay feels more refined, the writing is as good as always, and the ending acts as the final cherry on top to end Max's story... Well, until Max Payne 3 of course.

Great game, but requires some third-party fixes in order to get running on modern hardware. Fixes for this game has been around for years, and takes about fifteen to twenty minutes tops to get working. Annoying? Yes. But the work to get it running properly is quite worth it.

If you can't figure out how to fix the game, even with the instructions right in front of you, I can't help you. Turn off the computer, and walk away.

Overall, great game. From the writing, atmosphere, gameplay, and the m u s i c. Definitely recommended.

Why does this game exist, and why do I keep playing it.

Please send help, I think this game is frying my brain to the point where the last two of my brain cells are competing for third place.

If you ever got around to playing Scarface: The World is Yours, you'll definitely recognize the voice actor for Tony. It's awesome that they were able to hire this voice actor. The character, Scarface, has nice little details and such. Much like a lot of the other recently released heisters. He's definitely become one of my favorite characters to play as.

Anyway, the new assault rifle is...eh. Sure, it does around one hundred damage, but the ammo/pickup rate is awful. You get twenty in the magazine, and forty in reserve. Oh, you also only get three grenades for your grenade launcher. I get they they wanted to keep it balanced, but only forty rounds in reserve? That's WAY too low. I'm aware there are enforcer skills that can "help" in this case, but come on. At least give us sixty or eighty in reserve, or increase the pickup rate. Or both...whatever works.

The melee weapons are more of a joke. Both do around twenty damage (Without charging), and around 200 when fully charged. But hey, it's still a chainsaw!

I haven't been able to use the perk deck yet, but I've heard mixed feelings about it. Some say it can be useful, others...not so much.

Oh, yeah, we also got a new rocket launcher. It does around 2,000 damage, and you can fire it up to four times, before having to reload. Not much else to say about it.

Overall, great character, "nice" weapons, interesting perk deck. If you're a fan of Scarface, get this DLC. If not, then wait for it to go on sale.

It's ok

I got insta-killed by a bandit and his shotgun, from 100+ meters away.

A Bloodsucker then tore that same bandit apart five seconds later.

Such is life, in The Zone.


11/10 - Would play again.

A classic in PC gaming.

Thumpin' music, fantastic writing, decent RPG mechanics, and the atmosphere of each area you visit is fantastic.

The combat hasn't aged too terribly well, nor has the graphics. Mods exist for both of these issues, but personally, I enjoy experiencing the game in its original state.

If you can pick it up when it's dirt cheap, by all means get it. It's definitely a game that's worth your time.

All I did was pull out a candlestick, and I go to jail...and then get shanked to death by some random player, who had previously killed four others with a wallet bomb.

"The Ship" life is tough...

11/10, would get sent to jail for holding a candlestick again.

Though the acting wasn't the best, I do have to say that my favorite episodes were 1, 2, 3, and 6. Gary Daniels fit the role of Hector perfectly. Especially with that badass fight scene. Dash Mihok also did a nice job playing as Gage...would have loved to see both of them in the web series more.

Eric Etebari and Damion Poitier also did a fantastic job portraying Dallas and Chains. The same goes for Derek Ray as well. Too bad Ulf Anderson didn't play as Wolf, I was looking forward to hearing him actually yell/scream in the web series.

Overall, the acting was at a decent level. I'd give the acting a 6/10. It's good, but not great.
