Early Access Review
My short description would be that Executive Assault 2 is Challenging, fun and rough around the edges. It has all the building blocks of an RTS, reminding me a little of Age of Empires and Total Annihilation, but the Executron feature makes an interesting change in how you can approach playing it (with friends).

I don't really play this by myself, but when I get together with my wargame buddies we spend 3 hours on it, one as the commander (playing the RTS) and the others as Executrons, following orders, taking over command outposts, claiming Ancient Energen facilities and looting derelict ships. This game is, to me, what makes videogames fun. You buy the game and get the whole game, no paywall for extra content, no battlepass, no nothing. Then the game presents you with the basic building blocks of a genre with a couple of twists to make it unique and interesting and then you play the game however you want. Sometimes, my friends and I will play it seriously, even turning to military commands and terms to communicate. Other times, we'll asteroid bomb the enemy base, and then escort the CEO to the base so he can personally assassinate the enemy CEO, winning us the game.

The only things I would complain about is how the game doesn't seem to be optimised very well, running at about 20 fps, sometimes dropping to 10, and how it could get repetitive in its current state if played a lot in a short span of time.
These things don't really bother me, as it's a once-in-a-while kinda game for me and the gameplay is fun enough that the FPS doesn't matter (but would be a nice quality of life thing)

Overall I like this game, if you have a couple friends who you like playing RTS, FPS, Wargames or just ♥♥♥♥ about with, get this game.

Let's get the less appreciated things out of the way first:
Indie studio from Denmark (♥♥♥♥ yeah!)
Amazing 80's synthwave/rock soundtrack
Distinct and unique polygonal graphics

Now, the review.
This game knows what is expected of it, and it rockets past those expectations within 5 hours of gameplay (best with friends). The gameplay is recognisable yet unique, with the different expeditions focusing more on a specific part of the mechanics; Hunting dreadnoughts make you think more about your weapon attachments and positioning, point extractions has you spelunking for big "Aquarq" crystals, etc.

The only downside I can think of is that the "real game" only starts when you promote a dwarf, but I enjoyed myself playing it until that point without even knowing what to expect, so I wouldn't say it is to the detriment of the game.

Other than the fantastic co-op experience, the weapon, pickaxe and beard costumization, the beer progression tree and the surprisingly interesting universe its set in, the game is very funny. Ghost Ship Games clearly know what they are going for, they know what the game looks like and what kind of players it attracts. I can't explain the kind of humour this game contains, I can only tell you to play it to experience it for yourself.

I am not a professional game critic, and this review is obviously very biased, but if you trust me, the random dude writing on steam, then I have this to tell you:

Get this game
Get one or more friends to get this game
Play it until the short uphill climb of the beginning is over
ENJOY!

I know it seems like an odd game, and it might well be. but with the right friend(s) this game has been one of the funniest games I've ever played. Could be that for you too! The gameplay is quite simple in the basics:
-Crash on planet
-Build factory
-Gather ingredients (such as tomaties, living tomatoes)
-Make soup (different recipes get you more money)
-Send soup to starving planet with a rocket to get market share
-Protect your factory from attacks by the competition

As far as I know the game has some small issues to work out, my only problem is rare connectivity issues with my friend.

When my friends at first told me to get Starbound, I hesitated. "I already have terraria" I thought, and boy was I wrong. At first it seems like your average 2D survival game. But it is so much more. Good story, backgrounds for the different races, incredible building posibilities (better than terraria in my opinion), great exploration and combat. The game is filled with gameplay elements that make it feel different.

After very little time in this game, you realize that it might not have as many features as you wanted, but the features it has lets you do so many fun things! You will not regret this purchase if you like any of the following:

Space
Top Down
Sci-fi
Depth
Procedualy generated Characters, Names, Galaxies, Space Stations and Space Ships

I would recommend this game not only as a fun 10 min experience when you dont have time for 60 min story missions, but also as a game you can play for hours.
