There will be spoilers in this review so if you haven't played the game don't read this
Fallout 4... good game bad fallout. Why?

Let's start with the good.

1. Weapon and armor customization, gun play, VATS
Bethesda extended the idea of weapon customization from Fallout New Vegas massively, making it so that most of weapons can be viable later on in the game and really felt much more impactful than in New Vegas. Armor customization isn't so massive as weapon customization but I think it's still overall great. And about the guns well.. they feel like actual guns and are much more accurate making me not use VATS 24/7 like in Fallout 3 and New Vegas..idk what to say more about this one. And VATS well nothing much changed just the fact that VATS only slow time a bit so it's not complete life saver now and the critical hits change making VATS much more balanced but still very viable and great thing to use.

2. Redesign of the power armor
In older Fallouts power armor just felt like just another armor that you could wear but with just more DT and much more carry weight needed to actually wear it. Fallout 4 makes you feel like that you are actually wearing something called Power Armor and not just another armor set also being the fact that you can't just use it all the time because of the fact that you need Fusion cores to run with the PA because of how actually strong it is.

3. Companions
I think companions are the best part about this game.. All of the companions are honestly great and I don't think there is an actual bad companion, all of them having their own personality, their opinions on what dialogue you choose in conversations, what choices you make, what do you do. I think anyone in this game can find their companion they like in terms of personality and playstyle.

4. Exploration
Just like in Skyrim Bethesda nailed it with the exploration making me to not fast travel as much because of the places and things you can find around the world

That's about it...

Now the BAD.

1. Dialogue options, choices in dialogue barely matters, skill based dialogue, S.P.E.C.I.A.L based dialogue, Game forcing you into being not really evil character, Roleplay..
And all I have to say ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this is bad... You are introduced with the dialogue options from the start of the game with the Vault-Tec guy and man it is so bad, having only 4 dialogue options in conversations totally ruins the roleplay element and because of the fact it doesn't even matter what you say in the dialogue, this is how it actually feels when you are talking with someone: yes, yes, maybe yes, ummmmmm yes. or either yes, yes, no but later, yes. The dialogue without mods doesn't even tell you what are you going to even say, the options in the dialogue have about 1-4 words but when you choose it the sentence is much more longer and maybe wasn't even thing you were going for. The removal of skill and S.P.E.C.I.A.L dialogue is just sad, remember whenever you put your skill points into medicine could have huge impact in dialogue, or telling someone that you are going to beat them because you have strength 7? Well this all just gone... Also because of the lack of dialogue options you really can't be evil in this FROM THE START OF THE GAME why can't we just choose to side with the raiders instead of minutemen like we could in New Vegas with choosing either Goodsprings or Powdergangers? Why can't I even wipe the minutemen, why there are so many essential npcs you can't kill? Why can't you blow up diamond city like you could megaton in Fallout 3? And because of that there isn't enough roleplay because of all this, you are just good guy with few dialogue options that most of them are just yes.

2. Skills and perks
Skills and perks are just too oversimplified, going from having skill points that you could invest into skills such as guns, medicine etc as well perks that it could very much matter what perk you choosed because of that there is level limit and you can't have all the perks Yeah well these are gone and are replaced with very basic perks that are super simple like, pistols do more damage, stimpaks heal you more and stuff like this...

3. Factions
Honestly I couldn't give a more ♥♥♥♥ the institute, I don't care about Shaun at all and his Institute I don't feel connected to him at all, he is only using you as experiment, he doesn't explain you why they were kidnapping people why they are doing the things they do ALL HE SAYS THAT YOU WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND so pretty much.. You never really get a sense of what the Institute really stands for.

Railroad just...sucks who gives a ♥♥♥♥ about synth even Father said that they are just machines, why do they help them? Because of good cause and that they are slaves? Umm that's it? I mean they are just people hiding in a cave and they barely have any idea what the ♥♥♥♥ they are doing. They were first introduced in Fallout 3 and when playing that game I already felt like that it is so dumb to protect the android from the owner because it has free will, well it's still android who gives a ♥♥♥♥.

Minutemen is boring.. that's it, it's not like really bad it's just boring..

And the BOS well The Brotherhood are ginormous ♥♥♥♥♥. They are insufferable. The Brotherhood acts as if everything in the world is theirs for the taking, and worse still, they have the tech and firepower to enforce that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ attitude, also the fact that Elder Maxson is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lunatic

4. Settlements and building in this game
So I don't know where to start with this? The fact that putting over milion turrets in settlement and walls around the area doesn't really matter because some idiot gets kidnapped anyways? The fact how limited it is? The fact that they attack it all the time? The fact that settlers aren't even grateful for what you are doing? The care you must put into settlements to make them all happy? The settlements became so demanding; that it left hardly anytime for anything else; a never ending annoyance. I don't even like the concept of this I just want to explore Boston not building ♥♥♥♥ for settlers. Also trying to build something larger also ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks because of how frustrating it is to put the wall in right direaction and not make it go the other way. Just nope

5. Creation Club
Um paid mods? Seriously? I'm not going into much details of this crap it just sucks

6. Legendaries
This is the worst, most rng system in Fallout 4. All I can say THIS SYSTEM SUCKS SO MUCH, the way this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ system works is that whenever there is legendary enemy he will drop legendary item that can be literally anything, you can't expect what you will get because you can get ANYTHING and I mean anything from one piece of armor to minigun, and you can't even CHOOSE the effect of the legandary everything is random yet something like two shot 10mm pistol can be super useful but you won't most likely get it because of how many things you can get.

7. Not enough weapons
I complimented the weapon customization and how good it is, but the amount of weapons in this game is so low, the base game has only 50 weapons compared to Fallout New Vegas based game that has 106 weapons. I mean yes customization of the weapon in 4 can change the weapon by alot but seriously what happend to 10mm smg? what happend to sniper rifle? what happend to heavy incinerator? etc.. these iconic weapons are just missing in the game

8. Bad AI
Once again I complimented the gunplay of Fallout 4, but the AI isn't really good. You can very easily learn the pattern and what the AI will mostly do when you put few hours into the game. But that's not the biggest issue I have with the AI. THE BIGGEST ISSUE is the vertibird that BOS is flying with I never saw them survive a fight in vertibird NOT EVEN ONCE, they 100% of the time crash and explodes.

9. Main quest 10. bad characters 11. bad deathclaw and PA introduction 12. no traits
well i can't write much more steam review has limit for words 4/10 mod this game otherwise it's bad
