A grotesquely charming game with a surprisingly well thought out sandbox that's really fun to be a little psychopathic in(or a lot).

Decent fun for a decent while, more-so with friends. The endgame grind is boring as hell though.

Distills everything I like about western rpgs into a short, sweet, very enjoyable package.

I was lucky enough to have friends already invested in this game long enough to offer guidance, answer questions, and invite me to a clan. Because of that, I was able to catch up on the game and learn its systems, allowing me to properly enjoy playing it.

Many people, perhaps most, are not as lucky. This game is not accommodating to new players in the SLIGHTEST. If you don't have people to provide reliable/up-to-date information, you're more than likely to pick the game up, be overwhelmed by the design being more for familiar players than new ones, get confused, and drop it like i did back in 2019.

Edit: 1000 hours later and the sentiment still holds true. Only get this game if you already have experienced friends that can ease you into things.

Pros:
Interesting core game mechanic

Cons:
No training mode, something that's supposed to be standard for most rhythm games
The game is pass-fail, missing a single hit makes you restart the level, not necessarily a negative, but...
Because of the previous two, you cannot practice a specific section of a level without replaying everything prior to it, which is tedious
Custom levels, one of the biggest reasons some people even play rhythm games, are incredibly restrictive. A custom level cannot be distributed unless it has EXPLICIT PERMISSION from the song artist. This means that experience you have of looking for your favorite artists and seeing if they have any custom charts is significantly diminished if not gone completely.
The hub world is neat at first but becomes old to traverse quick

Unless you're REALLY into the game's gimmick, get something else.

There are certainly worse ways to ruin your eyes.

Difficult to go back to OG Half Life after this, fantastic remake with great set-pieces(a couple were better in the original but hey 95 for 100 ain't bad). Great game, great soundtrack, and it's quite inexpensive.

You know, the building used to be one of the less developed aspects of Terraria. Then Journey mode came out. Bless Journey mode, It's a great way to experience the game once you've had a few normal/expert playthroughs. God forgive the masochists that play on master mode/for the worthy.

Also you can mod this game, so that alone adds hundreds of hours of replayability. In case someone else somehow hasn't told you this yet, If you want a fun adventure/sandbox game, then get this game.
